Sort of new to setting up my own tailgate, what’s the best way to set up a tv? Do y’all use satellite or stream over internet? And how much will it cost me to get set up to watch?

I use a DISH Tailgater. You only have to pay month to month. No contract. Before you go with a satellite, google the satellite locations DTV/DISH use for Starkville and make sure you won't have an obstructed view. You can get a DISH Tailgater and receiver off of Amazon for about $470. I think the package I have like $85/month.

I do not know if DTV has a portable system that automatically searches and finds the satellites but thats what the Tailgater does. I have DTV at home but after seeing a guy struggle with an HD-DTV dish on a tripod trying to get it set up one day where you have to get azimuth, elevation and rotation, I decided to go with the DISH that automatically finds the satellites.

streaming will most likely not happen on game day in Starkville. Not with att anyway...

I use a tailgater and Wally receiver I bought “like new” on eBay for about $300. Pay a buddy $100/yr to piggyback on his dish service and gives us practically every channel there is. I think it’s about $8/mo to add a receiver to existing service rather than paying probably $120+ for the package we have per month standalone.

Our little group sets up in the same general area every week. Takes us about 10 minutes to manually point the used dish from a thrift store in the same direction it's been for last several years and get any channel we want. My neighbor/tailgate partner adds it to his regular satellite account for just football season. Check everybody around you and see where they are pointing theirs and use an app on your phone if you need to. Don't wait till opening weekend to try it, tens of thousands of others will be trying theirs for the first time and will all be on hold ahead of you in Bombay India

Yeah, CSpire has worked fine at the Junction and Davis Wade for at least the last 3-4 years for me. There was a time before then I sent my friend a text from the concessions line to see if she wanted anything. She got the text somewhere between Louisville and Carthage on the way home almost 3 hours later.

So did you have to turn around, head back to Davis Wade, and get what she wanted? **
