I just heard on "Ole Miss in a Minute" on Supertalk Mississppi that !+@* will be cracking down on tailgating this year. They mentioned a new rule that does not allow anyone to set up tailgate tents until after 10:00pm on Friday night before a game. This was voted in to allow EVERYONE to have equal opportunity to get a good tailgate spot. WTF!!

They also said they were cracking down on parking and closing off several areas to parking and limiting other areas.

One thing I did like is that they have a new "In Stadium" 911 text system. If you have a problem in the stands, then you can send a text to a number and emergency personnel will respond to your seat. I didn't realize that it was getting that bad at VH.

I had "#@@@ Tailgate Crackdown" as my title to pre-alert everyone to an #@@@ post.

How does this apply to State? Not much, but I hope State doesn't get that 10:00pm idea as a set up time. Yes, 10:00 pm the night before is plenty of time to set up before a game but that's not the point. The point is that no matter what time you set, people will be there before that time in an attempt to get the best spots. I would much rather go out at 5:00pm on Friday and set up the tent then to have to wait until 10:00pm to set up. I'm sure this came about because some rich #@@@ grad lawyer said he didn't have enough time to leave his law firm at 5:00 and still get a decent tailgating spot. I hope similar does not happen here.
