Outside of Southern Traditions, is there anyone else that can help me set up and take down a tailgate for the OU game next year? I know when I was in college there was a few college students who would do this as a side hustle. We would like to be somewhere on campus.

Call Cohen. He probably still has the names of all the people providing this service that he ran off.

Watch on here, there's usually a few people that post about it here before the season starts.

Doesn't Southern Traditions have a monopoly on The Junction? If that's the case, what our group did for years wouldn't be possible now.

The area between the amphitheater and the SAE/Pike houses should be FCFS for tailgating, so you could pay someone to set you up there.

I think they basically gave Southern Traditions a monopoly in The Junction to insure that the RIF-RAF was kept out.

There are still plenty of good spots. Down the sidewalk in front of Barnes and Noble, and the row in front of Dorman, just to name a few. These spots are very easy to unload your gear, then reload when the roads open after the game.

In front of Dorman is completely full and folks have been in those spots for years.

The McCarthy Quad is wide open too. Area where McCarthy Gym once stood, in front of Duff Center and Ag Bio Engineering Building

Speaking of do=it-yourself tailgates. We have done it ourselves for the past 4 years. Same spot. This year however, for the Tennessee game this dude broke the rules and threw down his stuff to "Hold" a spot prior to the official time allowed (5am the friday before). I assume he threw down his tents that Thursday night. As my guy was there 5am like always and tents were already in place. We found space very near by...... but God help us if State gets good again......people just can't follow the damn rules. which is why you have the University turn over the prime spots to STT.

However, I will say.......while I would never pay that amount money for a tailgate set up......the Junction looked much better this year.

My main beef with STT is where is the bidding process for that?

Never seen it or heard about it and I’ve looked.

Sounds like some clandestine relocation of some tents might be in order on Thursday nights. Taking them about as far away as they can be taken but still seen from original spot should make that point.

If the funds are routed through the Bulldog Club it may not have to follow state procurement procedures
The other work around is that the specs could be written such that STT was the only qualified bid
I don’t have a problem with STT
They are doing a good job

I don’t have a problem with them either but it should be bid like anything else. Otherwise it’s a monopoly with zero chance of any competition.

Of course the state bidding process is a joke as well so…
