that we can get any up and comer we want. We can do $2 million. K-State and M-State are very similar situations. We should go after Peterson hard.

As its been said 100 times. Mr. Byrne its time!!

That leaves Petterson an Graham as the next on our list should we get rid of Croom.

KSU = MSU. Both had great teams in the 90's, but if you look at KSU overall record they are not good.

It's bad enough when coaches leave their team before the bowl game, but at least that's kind of understandable. But Patterson hasn't even finished the season at TCU! Things are definitely getting to the point where if you wait until the season is over to fire your coach, you're going to miss out on a lot of the most desirable replacements. I don't really know what can be done to stop this kind of stuff, but I do think something needs to be done.

I agree, doing it during the season doesn't do any good. The best way to do it is negotiate during the season and get the coach locked up to announce a week or two AFTER the season.

that another program might try to steal your coach mid-season?

How cool would that be?

Has it ever happened to MState? Ever?

Rumors are that Brewster could get the UT job. I still think UT will go after Leach.

Not since the 1950's when Darryl Royal left. I heard rumors back in the early 90's that Jackie was interested in an NFL job, I think in Houston.

....and doing what they need to do to win. If only I could turn back time and have a message sent to my parents before I was born that if they knew what was best for them and for me they would change team allegiances. Oh well, I is what I is.

This crap is getting ridiculous - especially these insane buy-outs colleges are paying.

I think those buy-outs coupled with athletic facility expansions are about to come to a screeching halt with the economy the way it is.

I've already heard that UT is starting to feel the crunch. If you've been on their campus lately you know that they have millions of dollars of capitol expenditures going on in the athletic department. Now they owe Fulmer $6 million. And giving is slowing due to the economy. They'll survive but it will take some belt tightening.

if we wait till season's end and all of the good candidates are gone, we may be stuck with Croom even if we wanted to get rid of him.
