Taking a look back at the 2011 recruiting class...

The age-old recruiting saying of "we really won't know what we have until 3-4 years down the road" got me looking back at the 2011 class.

What happened to Devin Fosselman, James Maiden, and Nick Redmond? Academic issues? I thought Maiden was going to be a solid player for us when he signed.

We don't have to wait 2-3 years with last years class. We already know what a kick a@@ class that was.

What happened to Devin Fosselman, James Maiden, and Nick Redmond? Academic issues? I thought Maiden was going to be a solid player for us when he signed.

Fosselman was offered an academic scholarship for us. I believe it was a spinal issue -- which he declined and went to Pearl River and was not heavily re-recruited. Maiden got homesick allegedly and simply wasn't cut out for it. Think Redmond got lost in the shuffle early and got discouraged and quit.

Time has shown that class was pretty dang loaded for the overall meltdown it caused at the time... ton of underrated talent in that one.
