So I was browsing Nafoom earlier and they kept referencing a huge talent drop off next year at State. Now given I understand they are not the brightest or least biased news source around but they acted like it was just a simple fact. Will it be that bad?We lose some OL pieces I know. Plus Relf and Ballard. Isn't that about it?

As usualmorons at nafoom are dead wrong like their football team...And even then we have plenty of talent to compete with those attitude head case rejects!

I just don't understand going to NAFOOM, and putting 1 ounce of stock into their opinion on State football. I can see where they would be glad to see Relf go, since they make him look like Warren Moon every year.

Then yes we will have a huge one.** Talent drop off that is.

They seem to forget that not all schools lose as many freshman and sophomores each season as the mighty bears do, to go along with the normal graduation and drafting of the seniors and a rare junior.

that worries me about next year is the o-line, heck that worries me THIS year. We'll be OK at the guard and center spots- but the tackles concern me.

Relf is basically gone as far as I'm concerned.

Tyler, Favre, and then Dak will be able to play. I thnk Dak > Relf. Plus everyone should be better.

We'll be fine at WR- Bumphis, Carr, Jameon, Brandon Hill, Heavens, and then add in Morrow plus a bunch of other guys like Chris Smith.

RB- We'll miss Ballard, but we're going to be throwing the ball more. I think Perkins and Griffin will be fine there. We'll see what Milton and Josh Robinson bring to the table next year as well. Not a real deep group, and kind of young, but again, we'll be throwing the ball more.

DL- Cox, Boyd, Eulls all return as well as PJ Jones. Hopefully we'll add Ward or Autry to fill the other DE spot.

LB- Lawrence, Skinner, Well are all back.

DB- Whitly, Banks, and Broomfield are all back, as well as Slay.

K- Baker is back- he has done a pretty good job. We'll have to replace DePasquale. Hopefully the freshman walk-ons will be OK- Bell, Sobeisk, and Mordecai. So, that's another area of concern.

So, really the only parts of our team that will be of concern is the o-line- and maybe more specifically the tackles, and special teams. We need to get a couple of JUCO o-linemen that can play, of course and hope that the freshmen kickers make an impact and we should be OK.

Not only that, but we could have a very favorable schedule- depending on if LSU is on it or not. Regardless, we have most of our non-conference games first next year. That should help us out a lot.

What is this like his 3rd major knee injury? I wish he had never gotten hurt in his career because I think he could have been really great for us. O-line is definitely a concern, which sucks. Hopefully we can hit on a couple of Jucos this off-season.

he is a legit kicker. Huge leg punting and kicking and he is pretty damn accurate. The long awaited days of actually kicking the ball into the endzone on kickoffs will be here next year.

I also want to add that I think recruting will be better. The Gator will help in that regards and I think we will get to a bowl game this year and that should help as well.

We will need more of that this week to keep it close. We can't put the defense in bad situations.</p>

Lots of guys (50-60 I think) that have been on campus for 3 and 4 years.Hopefully that will translate to a winning season.

Plus, we have very few SRs on the 2nd string so the players we do bring in to replace the starters we lose will be experienced players. We won't be starting a bunch of freshmens like some are having to do.

When evaluating a team for how good it can be ALWAYS start with the OL and DL. We've had some REALLY good teams, especially in the JWS era, because we had really good line play while only marginal talent at a lot of the skill positions, especially WR. Good line play doesn't guarantee you will have a good team but NOT having quality linemen WILL guarantee you won't. Next year's DL should be really good but the OL is a BIG question mark for me.

Even if it's just adding beef to the line I think we could use some more warm bodies with a little experience.

is an OTatNWCCthat some think would have committed to us if our staff would have taken his commitment is now committed to Oklahoma State. He is originally from Rosa Fort and expressed interest in us out of high school. He is 6'5 320 and we should make a run at him. Why we havent is baffling to me.

Kyle Long, a formerFlorida Statebaseball player and the son of Howie Long, is out in a JUCO in Cali. He is 6'7 290 OT. He is only getting interest from SMU.

There do not appear to be many Miss. JUCO OL this year, but there appear to be some solid prospects out west.

Tavon Rooks is in Texas and has offers from Arizon, Auburn (already has one JUCO OL committed), Kansas State, Pitt and West Virginia. He is 6'6 280 OT.

I honestly don't think we're going to sign a juco ol. If we were we should be all over these guys by now. Mullens stubbornness is going to think what we got is going to be good enough.

If we can take a chance on a longshot project player like Joey Trapp, surely we could offer this kid too. Good football pedigree and had a great offer list coming out of high school (UF, FSU, ND, UNC, UVA, USC, Ohio St.). Only question is why he only has the one offer?

This whole mandate that JUCOs get out in December seems a little silly to me. I understand the purpose in theory, but it should really be somewhat of a fluid situation.

Tobias Smith's previous injuries at State were ankle related. He should recover from this, but odds are he injures something else next year.
