Thanks - So it is fair to say Nebraska's talent level is down compared to our standard (1960's -2000's). In other words, we are now paying for some years of poor recruiting, transfers, etc. Gimmered insisted on Sunday that "We have more talent than all of them. The problem is game planning and management." I get there may be other factors in play, but no one can deny talent IS an issue, and we need to get that piece fixed to effectively contend for championships.

All the analysis shows is that we can't just walk into the stadium and expect to thump people based on who we have on the roster. Our recruiting classes were decent, but for a myriad of reasons, a large chunk never actually made it to the field, and basically, we're about even steven talent wise with a lot of the division.

So on a good day, you are talking a coin flip who wins. Coaches decisions factor into adjusting that, player attitudes, effort, learning of new scheme, all play into that, so does all the injuries to an already depleted roster.

The coaches by no means have been perfect, but the players have probably been worse. Its going to take a little time to unravel, if we are seeing the same levels of effort and bad attitudes down the line and no player improvement by folks who have no association with Bo, then that's saying something.

Arguably the players who are making the most improvement, are guys who weren't in Bo's system very deep or were generally forgotten about by Bo. Janovich, Ozigbo, Gates, Moore, Freedom, Weber, Banderas, M. Newby etc. What we're seeing by the younger players is pretty encouraging.

Had they assigned no rating for the walk-ons, the chart looks worse. Call it what you want, I couldn't care less, cold hard truths are tough to deal with.

The only cold hard truths:

You are in an internet fight with a guy who joined last week.

You and what looks to be the vast majority are taking for gospel what a 3rd year journalism graduate stuck into a spreadsheet.

I am more than willing to take an analysis conducted by a person qualified to rate and rank college football talent.

I would love for someone to edit the analyses and stick "0"'s in for the walk-ons.

Actually I simply asked the question, which of the teams we lost to have more talent than Nebraska. I still say none of them. Looking at that list there is no way that Iowa could have beaten Northwestern. Right? But they piss pounded them. Why? Game planning and management.
Why did we lose to BYU? Game management. Why did we lose to Illinois? Game management. Why did we lose to Northwestern? Game planing. We got out coached in every game we lost.

We are not nearly as talented as we were in the past, we are not losing to tOSU, We are not losing to top 25 teams. We are losing to unranked teams, many of which have no quality wins including wins against us.

Nah, I'm mocking the recycled poster.

I don't need a "3rd year journalism grad" to tell me what I already knew. You can edit the analysis all you want, it'll make NU look worse.

Tim, don't let any of the idiots on this board rustle your feathers. Your too good and too valuable a poster to waste time with them. Just continue to be the great poster that you are.
