Downers grove south and WWS are two schools that come to mind. Whatever happened to the hit hard hang? Not sure about WWS. They're a shadow of their former selves.

Brother Rice could have easily played 2 CPS schools and been 3-1 or 4-0 right now.Instead they played 2 toughies in the first 2 weeks
And instead of going to the playoffs they get to thump their chest about playing tough non cons.

Says the guy who started a chain about Fenwick's week 1 non-con next season because of their embarrassing non-con opponents this season.

Happy to see the Friars on BR's schedule next season.
You're a better program, you'll kick Fenwick's butt. Congrats! You should with the amount of time and resources you spend on recruiting athletes on the southside. We are pretty proud of our academic environment and being competitive in sports at the same time. You'll never know what that blend is like but maybe your football program will actually do something relevant in the future.

Before all the Crusader Crazies freak out my comments are mostly tongue in cheek, although we all know there's at least some truth there :D

Talent at Rice? The well is dry with this senior class

Agree - the expectation at BR this season was to get to 5 wins. The current senior class has always had some solid players/contributors but they were a 5-4 type team through lower levels.

Finishing between 2nd and 5th in the Blue is still a big question mark right now. 5 wins for BR still attainable - just maybe not the assumed path. PC, MC and SR will all have to play well to earn victories.

Marist, Crete, Montini (and even Aurora Christian) will obviously all be qualifiers with potential to go on a run. BR certainly could be 4-0 - but they're not. And their core fans are disappointed because opportunities were there. Their opponents made more plays and yes - maybe a couple coaching decisions would be different if given another chance.

I'm happy to see supporters of other schools have have high expectations for BR. It's a sign of respect.

You call it recruiting we call it survival on the southside.

York tends to have plenty of talent each year but continues to put up goose eggs. This year, I see a couple of really good RBs, a big strong oline, an OK QB who threw some good balls. On defense, they always have tough, rangy LBs and beef on the line.

I have watched these guys play GW tough in the first half over and over only get beat by 5+ TDs with most of that spread coming in the 2nd half, which points to either lack of coaching adjustments or conditioning.

There is a third element not mentioned. Winning culture. Kids have to believe they can win.

Waubonsie Valley.

Mike Clark had them ranked #3 to start the season.
But the lovely and talented Beth Long - who deserves far more respect than she gets from you ... troglodytes ... - never ranked them.

Proviso west has incredible talent but the coaching isn't there yet. New coach seems like he is doing good with the program

If the score board is any indication, the coaching staff is starting to produce. May not be wins yet, but they have scored more points this year in 4 games than all last year. Genuinely hoping the trend continues as WSS is better off with a higher quality PW

It seems that it's a numbers game @ WWS, not enough interested kids.

FYI,
Last time PW beat GW was 1981.

WWS needs a head coach that is in the building, Muhitch retired from teaching in 2014 and since the day he left the building his record is 11-23.

The numbers are down but a lot of the has to do with the losing, there is still enough talent on the field to be a winning program not the garabage they are putting out right now. I feel bad for the kids they deserve better then what they are getting from the administration.
