"It's no secret. Everbody knows our history," said Cameron. "They need some help at quarterback. (Chris) Relf ran the ball real well and he made some plays in the offense, but I feel like I could help in the passing game. I believe I can help the team with what I bring to the table."</p>

Newton met with Mullen early Sunday morning before heading back to Blinn for a 2 PM practice.</p>

"Leaving early wasn't something I was excited about, but everybody is not playing for the national championship, so I can't complain," said Cameron. "I met with Coach Mullen before I left. I feel like I let him down today when I DIDN'T COMMIT. </p>

"He wanted to know where Mississippi State stood and I told him as of November 29th, 2009 Mississippi State is my number one school.</p>

"I am going to make a decision on December 15th. I am going to Norman, Oklahoma on the 11th for an official visit. They haven't offered me, but they are talking about it. I am going to take the visit and see what happens before I decide."

A current member of our football team verifies that Newton will be our QB next year. This person has a vested interest (obviously) in who our signal-caller will be next year. I agree with another poster that maybe his dad wants to check out a few other places, but everything indicates that he'll be donning maroon and white next fall.

If he thinks OU may offer, he needs to check it out. The obvious upside to OU is the exposure should he be offered a spot there. But, the downside and the reason I think he ends up here is that he will be offered with the intent of being the contingency plan - or, the pleasant surprise should he beat out their current QBs. OU has the current QB returning as well as another RS Freshman that is highly regarded. I'm not saying he isn't talented to earn the spot there, but seeing that he only has 2 years to make his "splash", he's probably better served going somewhere where it's practically guaranteed he will be getting immediate playing time. I think when you step back and look at the situation, MSU is the best fit for him weighing risks of positions competition and reward of potential exposure (the SEC is the SEC).

When you get to Norman, be sure to ask Stoops how serious he is about the Notre Dame job and ask him why he would be interested in leaving OU. Be sure and ask him that, Cam.

and someone else who has talked with Cam. Problem is, like the other guys said, Daddy Newton isn't convinced or has his hand out. Either way what Cam wants to do will probably win out.

and I asked him if he's ready to throw TD passes here next year and he said, "Yeah, man we'll see." Nothing promising I know just thought I would share. Then I asked him if he had seen the eggbowl trophy and he responded, "Man, I'm lookin' for it. Tryin' to put it in my back pocket." He was classy guy, laughing and smiling. I would be surprised if he didn't go here. I think his dad just wants to check out a few places just to see what's out there-few vacations like an above poster said. He seemed excited and happy to be here. He's a monster too...he's 6-6 that's for sure, maybe 6-7.They guy is enormous.

I was in the locker room after the game if you're wondering where this is coming from. Vincent Sanders was talking to Melvin Smith alot. Can't get a read on this guy. He's so calm and shows no emotion on his face whatsoever. Reading Yancy's article on him made me think we have a least a 50/50 shot at him. I also told Bryon Bennett no to go to OU and he just started laughing....
