Yep. That's what all the pro scouts are saying too.
Never understood the dislike for McKewon before, but I admit I never read much from him. Now I'm starting to get it.
Preseason doesn't mean a thing, especially since Lee hasn't played a down in a power 5 conference. Lee could be the best in the league. He could be sitting on the bench before conference play starts. No way to know.
Let the chips fall where they may, at the end of the season the results will speak for themselves and portray the better qb.

Pennsy - I had to chuckle when I read your post. I was reading all the negative comments on Sam and his opinion then I read your post. People, including you and I, are giving opinions left and right - what makes his worse?

Long ago before getting paid by the Big Red he loved to rip Husker Fans on this exact board. To then make his living from Husker Fans was too much for me...that and he thinks he knows more about football than he does.
I am not saying he is wrong. I am saying I don't give a **** if he is right or wrong. His opinions mean nothing to me. There are lots of regular posters on this board whose opinions I respect far more.
SAM KNOWS ZERO FOOTBALL. I don't understand why people care what he thinks. He did not all of a sudden learn more football when he got to go to the beginning of practice and then record coach-speak after practice. Seriously, he makes the likes of Damon Benning look like Bill Belichick.
Sean Callahan spoke to a private group earlier this week. He said NFL scouts have Lee as a junior as the 4th best pro style QB on the board and he hasn't even played a down for the Huskers yet. He also said this will be the best QB play Husker fans have seen in a very long time. Hoppes will have a fantastic year with Lee under center.
Out of curiosity......If Thorson was at Nebraska and Lee at Northwestern would you still take Lee?
Holding a paper, book, or magazine is still part of the experience for many people.
When it comes to Sam I just cant stand his writing style.
Hard to say without seeing him against competition here at Nebraska, but I put a lot of stock in what the experts are saying, and I don't hear them talk about Thorson the way they talk about Lee.
If we were a spread option team sure. But we aren't. For this offense, I gotta go with Lee.

Lots of people buy newspapers, I assume most buy the on-line version which is delivered at 4:00 A.M for me. Great high school and college sports, plus local news. Cost is less than half for the old delivered paper version which got wet and thrown in the bushes.

Fair response. Sometimes we tend to fall in love with our own by human nature. Sometimes reversing the scenario allows us to be a little more objective. I agree its hard to judge because we haven't seen enough of TL. In Thorsons defense he is getting a lot of discussion by the "so-called experts too". Although I'm cautious with any so-called expert because of the nature of being politically correct when speaking.
Mckewon at least has watched practice... after a few games we'll see.

Would you agree that NU needs help to win the west? We could go 10-2, beating every western division foe, but losing to Ohio state and Penn State. Wisconsin very easily loses only one conference game to us.So I guess no one thinks NU will win the West?
