Sorry, but I don't get the hate for Aldi's. With the exception of some pre-made pizza and beef tip meals, I've never gotten anything that I though was below Kroger-level quality.

I’ll take Piggly Wiggly any day. The Kroger in Hernando is so spread out it’s dumb. That and you see 20 people you know and either have to duck the aisles in avoidance or talk for 10 minutes.
I like the Hernando Kroger because it has everything in there with a lot of variety.

I hate our Walmart. It’s way smaller than all the other ones in the area.

Kroger is a decent grocery store. It's better than rouses to me and you get the fuel points. Winn Dixie is probably my souther favorite but they pissed me off to Aldis. A dollar general disguising itself as as grocery store. Aldis blows. Walmart is good for buying most everything but fresh meat and produce. We usually buy from several. Box and can stuff from Walmart. Meat depends on who is running the sale on what between Winn Dixie and rouses. Big surplus drinks toilet paper etc from Sam's.
If I were to rank

Publix
Kroger
Winn Dixie
Rouses
Walmart
Piggly Wiggly

crack head on side of the road
Whole Foods
Trader Joes

third world street market
Aldis
There’s no need for that kind of Aldi slander. It’s not my first choice, but it’s not a bad little store either.

The only time I will go in Trader Joe’s is at Christmas. They’ve got some snack food around the holidays that’s damn good. Certainly not healthy either. Other than that their Korean bulgogi beef is pretty good. The rest is just whatever.
The funny thing is that Trader Joe's isn't overpriced. It just sucks. Some of their gourmet meats and cheeses and produce are good, but their frozen stuff is awful.

Starkville might not have Whole Foods, but I think Oktibbeha County has 9 Dollar Generals....that's gotta count for something, right?

Mississippi drivers aren’t the most obedient when it comes to traffic regulations.

Plus, road work and randomly non-functioning lights…
FYPFY

I won’t look it up, but we probably lead the nation in incidents per capita.

Love Aldi, I stay away from meat that’s not ground though. In the package of pork chops, the top one will be be beautiful, those under it will be something unidentifiable

I'll put starkville kroger over publix. Kroger doesn't get the love it deserves. Not all kroger are the same though which is probably why.
This is correct. Kroger stores in the metro pretty much all suck, because historically they have had zero competition. Especially once Winn-Dixie and Albertson's gave it up around here. Kroger can do a good job when they want to - we just haven't forced them to up their game in this area.

Foods of All Nations aisle? I know what that is, but I don't think I've ever seen it called that. And I assume Starkville has those aisles as well.
If campus is anything like it was in the early-mid 90's, there is at least one dorm on campus where he can get whatever international food he likes!
