There's a new scout article on him. What does it say? We got burned on Singleton and Brassell, it looks like we might be offering this guy. Thoughts or concerns?

According to the coaches at the MS/AL game, he was the second best db on the team beside the kids from Olive Branch that is going to LSU.</p>

The coaches said that Jaylen Collins was head and shoulders above the other DB's except for Calhoun. I think he's going to need a redshirt year to bulk up though. I do know when it came down to the NUT cutting time in the MS/AL game, it was Calhoun that was in the game at safety. He shut down Moncrief from Raleigh, Pinkston from Forest and Gabe Gray from Hazlehurst this year. I think we will be happy that we got him in the end.

Probably not much of a step down between Whitehead and this kid. Especially when you consider Whitehead has along way to go before he's ready to play in the SEC. He's got alot of the tools, but he'll end up at safety.

We'll see on the Calhoun kid. He had a great week in Mobile. He didn't make many camps, so he's flown under the radar all year. He'll redshirt next year, but he's a good replacement for Whitehead or Brassell.

Him and Quay are very close. I think this should just about wrap things up with Evans. I look for him to commit shortly after signing day. Of course anything can happen between now and signing day 2012, but we're in great shape with him.

I thought regardless who we got, whether it be Whitehead or this guy, they would have limited playing time given who we have coming back. Hopefully Calhoun can redshirt and contribute in 2012.

I watched his film form the MS\AL All Star game so it's quality film against good players and I thought he looked good. He was staying right with Brassell. Brassell has bricks for hands by the way. I think Calhoun looks good. After a redshirt, which almost everyone in our class is going to do-which is GREAT, he could be a great corner. I really don't think Whitehead is much better than him. I've watched both players film and nothing really stands out over the other. Whitehead may be faster, but Whitehead looks extremely raw to me. And him and Quay Evans are best friends I was told, so that's got to help.

A part of it is because of the level of competition he plays against, and he's going to end up at safety. That's alot to ask out of a kid. He has potential though. That was the word used around him after Mobile - potential.
