but not a ton. I was hoping Boise and TCU would eventually get into the Big 12 with CO and Neb leaving. Boise's problem is their market area is just weak I suppose.

TCU would cut into TX and OK's recruiting honey hole so they don't stand a chance. Boise just doesn't bring anything to the table other than competition.

But, I think the football program will probably be a 10 team conference if Villanova decides to jump up. I don't see why they wouldn't.

They also bring nothing to the table in any other sport besides football, theirfanbase is small, and there's a very good chance they won't bring a whole to the table in football over the long term.

I figured they'd hang in the improved MWC and fight to take the Big East's AQ bid during the next BCS negotiations. Oh well. At least I get to snicker at BSU getting stuck in a non-AQ conference for a while longer.

I don't see why they would stay, even if Boise jumped over.Had those 3 teams decided to stay and Boise came over, then the Mountain West may get a real shot. Without them... there's no way.

replace the Big East next time around before all the moves started. BSU and Nevada > BYU and Utah nowadays in football, so I think they would've gotten AQ status. Now, there's no way.

They don't have a shot in hell getting that AQ spot now. Also, a friend of mine was telling me about the c-usa and mwc trying to come together and have their conference champions play against each other for a shot at a BCS at large bid, but I don't see that panning out now that all of the major football schools have left the mwc.

And that does matter, at least a little bit. What does BSU do to up the academic reputation of that conference...nothing.

And BYU's academic record is about the same as most of the junior colleges in Mississippi.

to the north so they could play TX or TCU for the championship. TCU's coach signed a 10 year deal last year. They will be good for a while
