Fair enough. That's your opinion. Question for anyone...

Many folks have been chalking this up to innocent college pranks. I imagine that's because the guy that did this looks like he's about 5-10 years removed from keg stands at the frat house. That's fine, I was there not long ago myself.

What if this guy wasn't such a close image to what I assume to be a the image portrayed by a significant portion of the posters on this board? Suppose, instead, that this was was a greasy homeless black guy that stumbled into for some Krystals and started 17ing with the guy? Or suppose this guy passed out in one of those convenience stores on Bourbon and a middle eastern guy decided to teabag the guy. Yes, I'm playing the odds on homeless folks and convenience store owners in the Quarter - deal with it.

Think as many people would chalk this up to innocent shenanigans, or would more folks call for the application of the law and throw the book at the guy that decided to 17 with someone that couldn't defend himself?

The reason I said I am a lawyer

is that Tusk said "I'm not a lawyer, but . . . "

My opinion has less to do with a legal assessment, and more to do with a personal assessment. However, if the teabagger's lawyer advised him to plead guilty, I assume it was because the prosecuting lawyers should have been able to make their case for sexual battery. Therefore, in my legal opinon I'll say this: Mr. Teabagger knowingly violated one or more laws of the State of Louisiana. He has pleaded guilty. He will serve his sentence, and once he has done that, he may re-enter society. Hopefully, he will have learned his lesson when that time comes.

And we have murderers walking free amongst us....

People who have done less have suffered more at the hands of the law than this guy.

Every day that shouldn't ever be let free. Drug dealers of all scales serve less time than this guy will serve. Our legal system is so far 17ed up, I believe it's beyond correction. Views such as yours are further proof of the reason we have the current legal system.

Maybe our law schools need to look at something other than $ and start trimming some of the fat in attempt to save face. It's getting downright pitiful all the idiotic legal rulings and precedents we see these days.

Lawyers are the single most cause of deforestation in this country. Because of lawyers, what used to take one page now takes a novel to explain.
