did it look like both in the GA and AL games that our opponent was playing in a different gear than our guys especially out of the gate. Its almost like we were pacing ourselves or something. Also, we REALLY need Sidney cleared to have another big body down low. Even though in our last game we had 6 days rest, Jarvis still looked like he was exhausted the whole game. To some degree Jarvis always looks like that but against AL he played that way as well. We can't keep asking Varnado to play 36 to 38 minutes per game.
It's not as if we've suddenly become a team full of poor shooters. That may be an element to an extent, but our last two games we've seen our shots become more heavily contested. I think that's because teams have realized we don't have much of an inside presence. JV is suspect on offense and there's certainly nobody else helping out in the paint. If our opponents can extend the D and contest the 3-ball, we are going to have a tough time scoring unless we just happen to be on fire shooting. It has less to do with shooting poorly as it does with our shots being contested.
If he's not hot, we should honestly play him very, very little. We can't be patient and wait for him to heat up, especially in SEC games. Much rather have Turner's rebounding and defense than bricks and soft D.
