Tebow Vs Newton. ESPN Loves one and hates the other.

I am totally confused in the analysis of Tim Tebow versus the analysis of Cam Newton. Seems that ESPN has a vested interest in Tebow's failure since most of their analysts have graded him so badly. Newton seems to be a favorite and the coverage of him is glowing.

When they analyzed the first games for each they made a point to show the one incomplete pass Tebow made and critiqued him on footwork and accuracy. He was 6 for 7.
Newton was 8 for 19 but all they showed were his completions . I did see some of his incompletions on another highlight show. He missed some wide open receivers and threw off the wrong foot when some pressure was applied, but none of that was brought up. In matter of fact on the crawl for "The Lead" they put "Cam Newton throws for 134 yards" They did not put the 8 for 19 until the actual game score went by.

They are very similar QBs at this time and it is yet to be seem who does well, but they sure seem to be writing the story they want to tell and not the actual reality of the situation.

We have to realize that these writers elitist when it comes to social issues. They cannot stomach Tebow and his story. Cam will be in a tough situation because he will not have time to really find his way into the system. They cannot afford to sit the first pick in the draft. </p>

Both are athletic (Newton is bigger and probably a little more athletic) and both have weird/unconventional throwing styles. Honestly, I don't think either is the sharpest QB (Tebow seemingly has the edge). I don't think either will have near the success they did in college at any time doing their pro careers.

but sports has mostly stayed away from that and let's the actual play dictate the story. However, in this case it might be something like that.

Probably even before then. The storyline was always how he was a great college QB, but would not amount to anything in the pros. While I don't believe it is unlikely for Tebow to fail, he certainly has the work ethic that is missing from a lot of great college QBs who flop.
