Anyone seen this guy play? We just had him in for a visit, and several analysts are changing their predictions from OU or ole miss to State.

4* guy that committed to Notre Dame out of hs but couldnt make grades, went to Holmes. Legally deaf. Apparently he will be back at Holmes and graduate this summer. If we got him, would we just keep a spot open in the class through the spring?

Paul has been saying for weeks on BSR that he was likely one of the last five in, so I would assume the answer to your question is yes - they would keep one open for him.

I'm not sure how the numbers are working out with Shepard, but all signs point to us signing him. He might make it, he might not. If he doesn't make it, he'll have to be re-recruited next fall in hopes he resigns in December.

If he gets out this summer, he'll be Soph next fall at MSU (I think). Kid is talented though. Check out his youtube/Hudl highlights. He's legit. Was a 5 star last year on some sites.

Yes, I saw him play this past season. I don't remember much about the game since it was several months ago.

He was a 4 or 5* depending on who you use...

I haven't met anyone that can adequately describe his whole situation -- but it seems that he actually enrolled at Notre Dame and ended up having issues after the fact. He apparently thinks he can stay at Holmes until June or July and finish up his associates there -- then enroll at MSU in the fall(or second summer semester). This -- after he allegedly moved back to Cali. So, who knows?

Rumor is that he'd show up at MSU with 3 to play 3 -- so basically a RSSO -- which puts him in the same classification as Giles and one behind Redmond/Calhoun... But, again, that could be wrong...

He was a 5* and the #3 CB in the country out of high school. A lot of people who claim to be in the know say he won't graduate in May and therefore could easily be playing in the JUCO ranks next season... in Cali.

Would be a huge pick-up if he can graduate.

He will be an Aug guy no doubt, May not possible...but with three to play three having to go to summer school is not s big problem. of course, not saying he will qualify.

That's what I have read as well. And with 3 to play 3 I think it's a good risk to take considering the talent he has.

I think he'll get his grades up. And yes he'll sign on the 5th. I think he's coming for an unofficial this weekend.

Slay only got PT in relief until his senior year and turned into a guy who was picked ahead of the Thorpe winner. I'm not worried about the depth chart if we're lucky enough to get him. Things seem to work themselves out. If we land OJ we could run a legitimate and elite 3-3-5. Holy hell... Smith Smith/James Jones, Wells McKinney Brown, Giles/Calhoun Shepard Cox Market/Hughes Love/Redmond.

This will be his 2nd visit and I believe this time it's official.
