Tell me why Collins performance should qualify him as a good coordinator.

Les obviously sucked hind tit.....thats apparently not up for discussion, but why should i not hate jeoff collins? what did he do in the last 2 games that gives me any confidence in his ability whatsoever?

dude just gave up 286 RUSHING yards....and another 146 passing....most of which came in the second half.

the most disturbing stat: 8-14 3rd down conversion % today
against northwestern: 10-19 3rd down conversion % in the gator bowl.

in the two games we have played with collins at the helm, teams are completing over half their 3rd downs to the tune of almost 55%. thats NOT sec football and our results will be largely the disappointing same that we are used to unless something unforeseen happens.

also, congrats to all you dumbasses that wanted this big glitz and glamor matchup. guess what, you stupid 17s got it and now we and our inept coaches will pay the price. im glad yall had a great exciting weekend. would have been really nice to pick up a win in week one, but hey, somebody had to lose, why not us.

our fans suck and deserve the **** headed down the pipe that will inevitably come. only stupid teams lucky to qualify for a bowl would schedule a top 15 team or any team that has finished in the top 50 in the last half decade. you got what you wanted. how does it feel? tell me please.

OSU ran about 35 plays (basically half a game worth of plays) in 15 minutes thanks to our great offense in the 3rd quarter.

Combine that with losing two starters and I give our defense a pass in this one.

Dude, we lost two corners and the offense gave him zero support. We did

not adjust to the diamond formation the OC brought from his other school but overall I give the defense a b plus.

defense was on the field way to much but still performed decent all things considered. If offense gives them a break and makes there offense more predictable like ours is then maybe we get a few picks or 3 and outs.

Time will tell.

Because we held a team to its fewest points in 3 years. And they were a top 5 offense last year in yards and scoring. Maybe we sold prepared/focused on stopping the pass which we did well. If we had stopped the run and they had thrown the ball well you'd be complaining that we should know they're a passing team and we should make em run to beat us.

If I had told you prior to the game we give up 21 points then you would expect us to win. The O was the problem today, not the D.

Hughes, Wells, Love, Evans, James...

I feel like for a team that 1) returned about 1 good player from last season 2) lost multiple brand new starters during the actual game, they did ok. My only complaint was their QB was able to run the same play a dozen times up the left side for 10+ yards. At some point I thought we'd shore that up but it never came.

No one has mentioned the 10 penalties we had....... I don't know how many were on defense but I feel like most of them were, and as much as you want to complain about the yards we gave up it was the players who gave up 50+ critical yards for dumb mistakes.

This is why. Look at who is number 3 on that list. 547 yards a game, 45.7 points a game. We held them to 21, including 14 in the 3rd qtr in which the defense played all but 6 snaps. No way we do that with Wilson. The defense can only do so much when you put them in that kind of situation.

Bottom line is the D may not have been outstanding, but they played well enough to win. They did get gashed pretty well at times in the 2nd half but I think if they had some support from the other side of the ball it wouldn't have been as bad.

When J.W. Walsh ran the qb keeper out of the diamond formation three times in a row, did anyone else see Deontae Skinner loafing and giving up on the play? If not, go back and look at it. Not the kind of impact defense Collins described and i'm sure he received zero "juice points" because my 90 year old grandpa can run faster than that.

so, nothwestern and their outstanding offense converted 10 of 19 attempts. how are we going to explain that away? 10 yards is 10 yards.....so how did we surrender over 50% of those to a big 10 team?

guys...tell me im not the only one seeing a pattern develop here.
you, ambiguous guy reading this on the internet that never had the balls to speak up, now is your chance....i know im not the only that has a problem with us surrendering over half of our 3rd down conversions under collins. it seems our fans are always late to the party in recognizing incompetence. i know we played a good offense, but they were 8-5 last year and we had a physical advantage. where was the pressure we were promised?

if you want to berate me, go ahead and do so but i challenge any of you clowns to explain away the lack of pressure we had. i was expecing joe lee dunn...we got joe lee cant (insert rim-shot).....no pressure whatsoever. how did wilson 2.0 work out for us?

The basic game plan for every team that plays OSU this year will be try to keep their offense off the field. This will prove to be one of their 3 or 4 lowest scoring games this year. Our offense is and has been a huge problem for a while.

also, im hearing a lot of reasons as to why collins is not a bad coordinator....tell me what you have actually seen in his last 2 games that gives you any confidence whatsoever that he will be good.

being good and being "not bad" are entirely different things, so what exactly in games played have you seen, gives you confidence that we are moving in the right direction? stats are welcome in proving any potential point you might have, so please, dont be shy. strike me down with the overwhelming surge of statistical evidence that collins isnt in over his head. all i see is a bundle of hope with zero evidence to back it up. its an offense trying to score and the only thing standing in their way is our defense......and one that wasnt nearly up to the challenge of shutting down either northwestern or oklahoma state despite them having the offensive yips the first half. if that was our defense giving their offense the yips, where was it the second half and the end of the first?

You are right - he's not a good DC. I can tell you that after just two games. One of which was a bowl game where he was made DC after a late season meltdown, and the other was against a team that has become known as one of the best offenses in the nation.

We should probably go ahead and fire him so we can look for another because he's obviously not good.

ok, so tell us why he is worth a **** or anything other than average at best. explain why we dont see the new aggressive defense we were promised and explain where the pressure is. deny all you want, but you cant deny away the lack of aggressiveness and how this would be an entirely different system than before. it looks like the same old **** to anybody that has been paying attention.

im not saying he is bad, but his first two games are against comparable talent and we werent close in either attempt...which means its going to be a long *** season in the sec where we are being both out-gunned and out-coached.

I don't know if he's great, but when the D was healthy and before our offense caved, we looked darn good in the first half on D.
