I can't imagine them sticking around, though Temple (if a full addition) is a strong basketball addition.

As a basketball league, Louisville, Memphis, Cincinnati, Villanova, Georgetown, Connecticut, Notre Dame, St. John's, Seton Hall, Temple, Marquette, and Providence is a pretty strong league based on program history.

I still think the basketball only schools may drop out and become their own league.

In fact, the Big East may be wise to consider becoming a basketball only league like the Atlantic 10 once they lose their BCS bid in 2014. Then they could kick out UCF, Houston, Boise, and San Diego State, and just focus on getting the best basketball TV contract they can get.

I really think the non-football schools will be their undoing. It's already caused so much dysfunction and is a big reason why these other schools have tried to get out. Eventually, they'll probably be one of the first conferences to implode. It's all on a matter of when now.
