Tennessee Titans - Possible #1 Options in my Opinion (Other than the obvious, i.e. Abdul Carter/Cam Ward/Travis Hunter)

Ok guys (and gals), I want some fresh takes on what the Titans should do with the number #1 draft pick. I don't want the typical responses of Abdul Carter or Cam Ward (whom I personally do not want them to take). I DO think Abdul Carter is the best player in the draft though and if we do stay at #1, we should get him. I have been thinking about who we should go draft or what route we should take going forward for a while now, and here are four of my most ideal scenarios:

1. Trade the #1 overall pick to Cleveland for Miles Garrett, though they do have the 2nd pick overall so it might not be realistic. We might could even trade our 2nd round pick for him. I mean, nowadays, it seems like draft picks are worth more than productive or even great player. Draft Will Howard in the Second round if it does take our #1 overall pick. Miles Garrett just re-signed with the Browns.
2. Dream scenario (of me as a Bulldog fan and Titans fan): Trade the #1 pick to the Dallas Cowboys for Dak Prescott.
3. Trade down to the Raiders and draft Shedeur Sanders. I honestly think he is better than Cam Ward. He has amazing mechanics, I love the confidence, and he is a smart kid. I know he is not the most athletic and the offense he ran put him in a good position to be successful and blah blah blah but not everyone can be poise, stay in the pocket and take the hits, and lead like him.
4. Now here me out on this.... Aaron Rodgers recently purchased a home in Franklin, TN. I know that he is at the point where he should probably retire, but I honestly think that he has at least 1 and possibly 2 good years left in him. Sign Aaron Rodgers to a deal, not a crazy high number but a realistic salary that would not destroy the rest of our cap space. Next sign Joey Bosa (or vice versa as in sign him first and then Rodgers). Trade away a pick (maybe even 1st overall) to the Jets for Garrett Wilson. He is on his last year of his rookie contract and wouldn't be that expensive.

I went to the very first game that Will Levis started, Atlanta Falcons, 10/29/2023. He had two touchdowns in the first half. The second half he threw for his 3rd touchdown and after that, I told my buddy I was with, if he throws 4, then I am buying a jersey today He did and I bought that jersey. I don't want to add it to the junk pile with some of my others, i.e. Derrick Henry, Antonio Brown. Maybe if he sets for a couple years behind a veteran he can be the guy but unfortunately, right now, he is not.

This is just some scenarios that I wouldn't mind as a Titans fan.

For me, there is no option for the Titans that doesn't involve trading the pick. There is reason that two GMs have been fired during the last 3 years, and that is because Robinson and Carthon combined to do absolute sorcery to this roster, making it one of the most pathetic NFL rosters that I've seen in two decades.

Even if they landed a future HoFer with the #1 pick, this team is easily 3-4 years away from sniffing the playoffs, and they need to be more focused on filling the numerous holes than trying to find a cornerstone right now.

The Titans scenario is very interesting. A couple of coworkers and I have discussed this one quite a bit. No sure fire franchise qb out there…..Ward has tools but is a bit erratic. Sanders looks great but has only played for his dad…..and combine interviews might have hurt his stock per several reports I’ve read. If you could get two firsts to move down I think you have to consider it. If you could plug Rodgers in for a year do it and grab what you can to solidify other spots. Anything else you can grab for a year only helps while you rebuild the roster. Good news is that fan base still supporting the team. Went to the Bengals game in Nashville and was surprised by how many were there given the way the season went. I’m think this one will go down to draft day before we have any idea which way this one goes.

Saw you mention Will Howard. I’m not sure if anyone has ever had a worse combine than he did. Will be astounded if anyone drafts him. Someone will take a flyer on him as a UFA to see if it was just combine jitters , but he looked horrible in Indy.
