Bad news for the US Davis Cup team. Andy Roddick has announced that he won't be playing Davis Cup in 2010. Blake hasn't committed one way or the other. The US just went from being a team with a legitimate chance to contend to being a team that will struggle just to stay in the World Group. Damn!

you're right though - Roddick and Blake make us a contender, without both of them we probably will lose to Serbia in March

The strength of the team was always Roddick and the Bryans. Without Roddick, I'd almost just as soon Blake not play to get some young guys some experience (not quite, but almost). It will be interesting to see guys like Sam Querry and Mardy Fish play. You're right, though. Unless Djokovic doesn't play (he's expected to), we have very little chance against Serbia on the road and on clay.
