Looks like the USA's Federation Cup match against Russia on April 24-25 is going to be played in Birmingham. Here's hoping the Russians bring some of their hot players to this match instead of the two that played their 1st round match.

Hot Russian players:

Maria Sharapova

Maria Kiralenko

Elena Dementieva

Players who played their 1st round match:
Svetlana Kuznetsova

Alisa Kleybanova

Reminds me of the old saying, "Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes right down to the bone."

at the RMKTC.

For those of you who weren't aware, Blake and Roddick are playing Wed. night, not sure if there are still tickets left, should be an entertaining match.

Blake has fallen all the way from #10 a year ago to #55 now. He's one of my favorite players, but at 30 it looks like he's near the end of his career. Roddick should win easily.

I remember a couple of years ago at the US Open, Roddick was playing Justin Gimmelstob (another good friend). Gimmelstob was serving and after he missed his first serve a bunch of Marines were leaving during the point so they all stopped and waited for them to clear out. Gimmelstob wanted to play a let, but the chair ump refused until Roddick finally said to let him play a let. Gimmelstob proceded to double fault. Roddick yelled to him, "After all that, that's all you can do?" Gimmelstob yelled back, "Believe me, I'm more disappointed than you." I also remember a few years ago, he was playing Mardy Fish and they played an incredible point where they both ended up at the net so they just high-fived each other.

most entertaining match i've ever seen, their interaction with the crowd makes it a lot of fun, which i would expect could be the case on wed. Also, i remember running into both of them and their entourage at dinner the night before they played. I'm sure they were game planning how the match was going to go.
