Tentative ESPN Radio Broadcasts for Roanoke/Lynchburg Games

I just met with an advertising rep, who shared with me dates of games that should be aired on ESPN radio this season. Salem fans who are used to hearing all the games on the radio may not have that happen this year. So far, ESPN radio plans (but these can change) to air these games on these dates:

8/28 Pulaski at Northside
9/4 Jefferson Forest at Patrick Henry
9/11 Cave Spring at Glenvar
9/18 Salem at Northside
9/25 Hidden Valley at Salem
10/2 Christiansburg at Cave Spring
10/9 William Fleming at William Byrd
10/16 Christiansburg at Salem
10/23 William Fleming at Botetourt
10/30 Blacksburg at Patrick Henry
11/6 Heritage at Liberty

There is an ESPN radio in Virginia app, and these games should be found on the ESPN Radio in Virginia Roanoke or ESPN Radio in Virginia Lynchburg websites.

I'm not sure but I think AM 1240 will still cover all the Salem games. The schedule may be for the ESPN in VA internet radio app only. I could be wrong though.

Mike, My understanding is that there was some sort of unidentified glitch/unsolved issue that caused a change, and it us unlikely that all Salem games will be aired each time as they have been in the past.At least for this year.

That would suck, I have to listen to the away games on the radio because I don't have a van & RADAR's last pickup is 8:15. I use them to get to the home games then I just drive my chair home (about 2 miles)

Hmm...Wonder why I was told there was a problem that was unresolved causing the ESPN crew to have to cover Salem. If that is not true, I am not happy because I know Salem crowd will listen to the other station as usual.

I'm thinking the ESPN in VA guys cover the game they think will be the best each week while trying to appeal to a larger listening area. I don't think they were trying to cover Salem because they didn't already have coverage. I think they just gave you misinformation unintentionally. Or maybe I'm not reading things right.
