I seem to remember reading somewhere that the new NCAA President that came from Washington was well aware of what Cal was doing with Jones
and was planning to fully use his power to look into Cal.

UK just got Eloy Vargas over the weekend...he was an elite HS post prospect that was at UF for a year before leaving and going to JUCO for a year.

Figured that would drive Jones to Washington since thats yet another F spot taken up and would limit Jones' immediate playing time a little bit more.

If anyone hasnt followed this kid's recruitment, its been hilarious. He makes Hopson's inability to stick with a school look downright simple.
He committed with his buddy to UW, then IMMEDIATELY after doing so was talking with Calipari and IMMEDIATELY started to waver. He postponed his commit date a couple times and apparently even at that point he STILL wasnt fully sure of where he would go.

UW has been screwed by UK this year. First Enis Kanter dropped them and signed with UK, and now Jones. Thats 2 major elite players in 1 spring. Ouch.

Is our new coach going to have some magic power to prevent that from happening?

Stans out-coached the almighty Calipari both times he played him last year. Unfortunately this year's DDDY favorite would not allow poor ol MState to win either game.

we didnt make the plays at the end of the 2 games to win them...Game 1, we had a few empty possessions to end the game...

Game 2? Had our chances to do our part to win it again. Yet, we couldnt do it...How did the refs steal it?

Last minute by us vs Kentucky in regulation- game 2:

Jarvis Varnado missed Free Throw
Jarvis Varnado missed Free Throw
Barry Stewart Turnover
Barry Stewart made Free Throw. 63-61
Barry Stewart made Free Throw. 64-61

then they made a FT and Cousins scored to tie

2 missed FT's and a turnover in the last minute lost it.

**edited to add**- Game 1? we didnt score in the last 3 minutes- 3 misses and a turnover...the refs do that to us? did they shoot for Barry?

Hates Stansbury so he blames him for everything. Acts like he wants Bost to come back when we all know coach hopes he doesn't. Amazing how sick minds work but it will never end ,so we might as well avoid his babbling *** or just wait until the season begins where he can show his academy league intellect in telling us how to do it. Calipari is no more than a crook and he uses his pimps from AAU to pay out the money. Until the NCAA does something, we are wasting our time bitching because he is not going to change. My money is betting that the only way he leaves Kentucky is when the NCAA decides to bust their chops for illegal recruiting and it will happen sooner or later if he stays and Cal will go to the pros and leave Kentucky with the baggage.

had it been reversed and it was called on us, some of you would be talking about it for 20 years about how we got screwed...

we didn't do what it took to win the game- it's that simple...it shouldnt have come down to that last play

We would have won, you have to be able to draw up plays and execute them in the final minutes of games, and Stans has no clue when it comes down to that.

It shouldnt have come down to that last play? What are you, a total dick just looking to stir **** or are you really this dumb?

Games coming down to the last play happen millions of times all over the world every year in all types of sports. When one team breaks a rule to create that last play, the refs need to step in and make the call.

So you are correct, it shouldnt have come down to that last play because that last play shouldnt have ever happened...the refs should have make the obvious call beforehand.

Chalk the loss up to a combination of things: refs, our lack of offense, Rick calling on Benock to inbounds the freaking ball, our inability to close the big game, Kodi spectating the last few seconds, etc. In close games, you can nitpick and and "what if" every single play, but overall it's a combination of everything from the opening tip to the final shot.

This way he can change his mind without penalty when Cal bolts to NBA or if he just changes his mind again.

by keeping Stansbury, we missed our window to do anything big in basketball

that if we had gotten rid of Stansbury that we would have hired Calipari?

It came down to that last play for UK as well and they won ONLY because the referees stole the game. Plain and simple. No way ANY competent ref misses the violation that is that obvious.

watch the game? Look I am in agreement with you (Jesus) that Stan's isn't the next Phil Jackson, but to suggest that we lost the game because of offense shows that you are either a) a moron or b) didn't watch the game.

Because I seem to remember Jodi Meeksgoing to the free throw line in the SEC Tourney a few years ago as UK was up by 2. He made the first one, andmade the 2nd one but it was called off because Rickcalled the ref on it. He went nuts and was going to either make them make the call or eject him.The refs made the correct call (lane violation) and Jamont Gordon drove to the other end of the court to hit a 3to send it to overtime. MSU wins the game in OT.

Douche.

But its part of the same rule...rule 9.
http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/BR11.pdf

I shouldnt be, but i am honestly surprised you are trying to draw a distinction between a lane violation from a player in a lane space and a lane violation from a player outside of it.

Man i know your game here is to split hairs as many times as possible when going down in defeat so you can still pull out some eekling of a victory, but this is just terrible.

You really want to stick with the argument that rule 9 is "never going to be called with the game on the line" but only part of rule 9?

Stop it.

Two birds were fighting in the street and one wised up and flew off but the other I plunked straight on. Highly entertaining to say the least.

1st Game
We were up67-60withthree minutes remaining, and failed to score for the remainder of regulation? We have no offense under Stans.
Standsberry failed to draw up and implement plays to score a single point, or even get to the foul line for a layup, he stalled.
We go on to lose the game 81-75. We only scored 8 points in the last 8 minutes of that game. Damn you are a dumbass.

2nd Game
Up62-57with 2:28 left. Stans go to the stall, missed shot, turnover, missed free throws, then foul up 3 with 4 seconds left, you know the rest...

So to say that Stans lack of offense was not the cause of these losses is just crazy.

you and I just think different. I would thing that a team that shoots 42% from the field and 37% from behind the arc doesn't blame a loss on lack of offense.

3 minutes we shot 50% from the field and went 3/4 from the line. Again, I'm not claiming (and never have) that Stan's is the next Phil Jackson, but we lost that game because of a BS non-call and our players not stepping up and making FTs. Not because of Stan's not calling the magical-works-ever-time-play.
