I could go along with everything until you argued against majority rule - even 51-49. That's who we are as a nation. So much so, the rights of the minority, no matter how great or small, must be protected as well. It doesn't take much to get back into the majority, and when that happens, we have to expect the minority will play fair until its their turn again. It isn't even Trump's political beliefs they hate either. It's that Trump has this huge, cultish following that no politician has ever had - maybe since the days of George Washington. THAT's what scares the left. It's what scares the right, too. The realization that the people, a LARGE percentage of the people, support the man more than his politics is the very antithesis of what our founding fathers wanted in the executive branch. That is why they put into place the electoral college - to try to stop that "man of the people". That's why Trump scares both sides. The people are so fed up with the "career politicians" they would elect a man with no previous political jobs, a brash, uncouth, braggart with little knowledge and even lesser morals. A man who proved the country didn't need "elite" minds behind the scenes to run the country effectively. A man who just got out of the way and let people run themselves into the best economy the country has seen in, well, a long time.
