fact is, we have 17ing sucked at establishing anything REMOTELY creative in 3 decades.

I'd say that sucked.......but compared to what of OURS does it suck?

Let me guess... Go..State......Go,State.

A&M's odd male yell leader setup has sooo much to do with our "lack of creativity"... If you are going to complain about ANYTHING under Stricklin I am amazed it is a creativity issue.

About 25 years ago Texas Monthly did a big spread on the aTm Yell Leaders.

The Good: All Aggies stand through out the football games and kiss their dates whenever the football team scores. The motto: "When the team scores, we all score." I follow their lead with my wife whenever the Dogs score. Crxxm's offenses didn't lead to much romance at Scott Field.

The Bad: When the team struggles, the Yell Leaders grab their nuts and yell, "Sqeeze Ags!" I'll pass on that tradition.

I hope Mullen and company makenext year's game painful in many ways for aTm.

For as awkward as that video was, the tall uncoordinated guy made it worse.

Because they are very interesting and ages old.

From their "wildcat" routine that each class is allowed to do. WOOP only for Jr's and Sr's., to paying off Sully for a good test grade, to chugging a pitcher of beer no matter what your gender when you have "EARNED" your ring (It is a huge deal when a student has put in enough hours to earn the right to wear the ring) Search Youtube for "rink dunk", To the monthly mourning for A&M alumni who have passed, to the yearly Muster to pay respects to all Aggies who have passed during the year (Any Aggie within 100 miles on that date is supposed to get together during this time) To the tree that no one dares walk under alone, to the "Howdy" they speak to each other as they pass, to their disdain for the T Sippers from UT, to the Midnight Yell in which all single students light a lighter and whoevers flame of the opposite sex they touch has to be their date for the game the next day, to the kissing after scores, to their mascot Reveille who with one woof will excuse an entire classroom for the remaining class period, to a million other %!$@%@ things that would blow your mind.

I am a proud graduate of MSU but I am amazed at the PRIDE that the A&M students have to their school and their traditions. Their student rec center and their baseball and basketball stadiums are really a sight to behold. I still like Scott Field over Kyle Field.

I think they are going to make one heck of an addition to our SEC West!

having been to a SMU game in College Station they are weird folk...their faux military traditions are just terrible..they also get all the cadets to jerk it in to a jar and burn it on top of their bonfire

The more I learn about TAMU, the less I like the school. As OP said, it is/sounds weak. Male cheerleaders are as ghey as it comes, especially when they actually do dance routines and aren't given the opportunity to place their hand on some cheerleader's snatch while holding her up.

For example, my #2 school is LSU. I have family there, love the city, the passion, the atmosphere, all of it. However, I'm also keenly aware that they are a bunch of violent drunks who throw piss bombs and vandalize cars. They're among the worst fans on the planet.

It's easy to see a few similarities and really appreciate aTm, but also be very vocal that the whole "yell leader" setup is incredibly homosexual (not that there's anything wrong with that, etc) and out of place in today's college environment.

Perhaps you can tell your wife it is a tradition that she has to squeeze your nuts. Tell her that if the team struggleswe all have to struggle.

Their traditions, while passed down for ages, are awful, awkward, and annoying. They put the lose in delusional. It's on thing when a Bama or LSU fan ramble about how good they are.... just wait until the Aggies upset one of these teams. Just wait.

More worried about image and fake accomplishments than true tradition.

That being said - You have always been one of my favorite OM posters. Why the hate for the class ring? It really does mean a lot to them. The ingrain that **** into you when you are a freshman and you are extremely proud when you achieve the right to wear it. I can promise you that their 50,000 students couldn't give one crap what people from MS think about their wearing it.

breed of cat no doubt. They hate them some University of Texas and I think their move to the SEC was mostly to spite them.

"Howdy" and the Yell Leaders would definitely take some getting used to. First glance to almost anyone has to be a big wtf? But I can't help but admire a student body that embraces these traditions and shows respect and honor toward their University. They are a very proud student body. Hell, they take their hats off when they enter the student union as a show of respect.

Honor, Respect, Loyalty and Honesty are emphasized all the way through their time on campus.

So a couple of their age old traditions are unique and at first glance lame. If their student body and alumni embraces them, then why should it matter to anyone else?

All you've contributed is some of your masterabotory fantasies. Twice. Because being a *** guzzler, you have anything else to contribute on why you hate A&M?

+I like aggie people alot better than your average teasipper. you want to talk about gheyness.

-they have more ugly girls there per capita than any other school I have ever been, and out of 50k students and in Texas that is saying something. you almost have to market to ugly girls or something. I think all the good looking ones go to tech. one in ten at best. I like college station though. It's fun.

1.Fish camp-they take all their freshman to some cult like facility
2.19% whoever doesnt like their traditions at A&M
3.They bury their lassie dogs with their carcasses facing kyle field so they'll never miss a game...Then they have a cadet standing guard over their cemetery who updates the scoreboard at said cemetery so the dogs know the score to the game.
4.They call each other "red asses"
5.they think they are some war-hardened bad asses even though they have never even served nor is the corps of cadets even military affiliated..
6.they have those turrible male cheerleaders
7.Their entire fight song is a basically a love ballad for UTA
8.Their whole existence is dedicated to hating UTA
9.They act like their football team is god-tier although it's never done anything
10.Their campus resembles communist Leningrad
11.the class ring thing is uber-ghey it basically is like a HS tradition
do i need to go on?
