Lebby and Hutz are doing work (now) in the portal. Some big gets this week.
It’s been a good week. Especially if Booth and KA get another year.
I think this staff is on par with Moorhead’s.
I kind of find it crazy we getting these TX commits while watching TX play a playoff game.
TX is not where we should be getting backup DLs. There’s a reason both they and aTm recruit that position so hard out of state.
The reason we're getting him is he is probably tired of "watching" Texas.
Fun to watch so many people work their mental gymnastics to downplay positive news.
That's the 2nd DL. Don't forget the Alabama transfer by way of Miami.

Moorhead’s staff, for all its faults, wasn’t short on recruiting talent. They were better than Mullen and Leach’s, IMO.

Watching Texas's D line tonight I don't feel too bad about getting one of their backups.
Oh I know what you meant. I thought it was comical. I judge by output vs talent and Moorhead, Croom and Lebby are all equally, uhh, inept at that.

Texas has a fantastic D line. Being a back up at Texas doesn't mean you can't play. That guy is probly the best DL we have right now. I'm thinking him and Trevion starters. Plenty of depth behind them. Kai and KBJ and the Bama/Miami guy.
Yes this is true ....I lived in TX 40 years and went to many high school Football games ....I'd definitely agree that Texas HS football is soft ...outside of the QB position, they really are disappointing
Bill Norton had 12 tackles in three years as a back up at UGA. Transfers to Arizona and has 31 tackles. Not saying that’s going to happen here but it could

That would be great. He can really get some push when he is in there. I think he has more muscle than his ligaments can handle...lol
It could. But we’re taking a lot of transfers who haven’t even gotten on the field for their current teams (the 2 from Texas being examples) or had mediocre contribution at s much lower level. A few of them will turn into good players for us, others will just take up space. We need most all of them to be real contributors for us.
3 transfers I’m most excited about are the LB from Tennessee, the WR from Oklahoma, & the QB from FSU. Not sure what they’re all rated, but for me those are our 4* transfers. The rest are 3*.
How much different will this roster be?
Safties - I really like what is happening there especially if Stonka moves. This group should be good.
LB - several nice additions - no complaints from me on this group. Very very nice
QB - this could be the deepest and best group of all but Shapen’s health could make next year so-so. The two behind him? I say both will have upside off the charts and they our backups going into spring. Sweet!
OL - I see several nice additions that I must believe in Lebby’s evaluation on as a former OL himself but I would like at least one proven addition to ease my concerns. Thing is, OL group is the hardest for me to grasp. So much is on things I can’t see as a layman. In Lebby we trust?
WR & RB? I just don’t know, Booth back or not? Bottom line, I think this offense still needs a couple pieces but I did not perceive the offense to be our biggest issue.
DL & CB. Both these groups have several additions none of which make me excited but, I don’t know everything either. I like the upside of them but… a bit sketch on past production. The CB may be in better shape than I think. We tend to not respect Lower level players from non-P4 off the cuff without knowing.
Two weeks ago, you had given me this, I think I would be happy but I still want a few more!

Is he better than what we currently have? Then I will take it.
Second half of the portal window starts in January so we have time and there will be a lot more enter the portal after the bowl games
