Owwww!!! Green's commitment already paying off!?!

I saw a guy on 247 say that Johns was no longer in the picture down there. I can't imagine that to be true, but maybe it is.

I doubt he will recommit for awhile and it will be an epic battle, you know the

kind I'm talking about*.

Not sure we would get him but I think we have a chance. I think we have a good

chance with the ones you mention with the exception of Patterson.

If it is a good possibility, I'm hoping we're smart enough to make it a NSD flip. Right now we sit nicely with Amonte Caban and Bama isn't going to offer. If MSU was to flip Lewis, they would offer Caban and end up being a trade (which it likely is anyway should we land Caban). If I was Mullen, I'd continue to go balls to the wall on Caban and work Lewis behind the scenes. Get Caban in the boat and then get Lewis to flip on NSD.

Someone wake me up from this dream world**

Many Bama fans have been expecting this offer to happen regardless of Lewis..

Very doubtful it was going to happen unless they felt threatened on Leo. They already have 2 ILB type prospects committed and Caban would make 3. IMO they are just keeping him warm. If they don't feel good on Leo, they probably will go ahead and offer.

They also play 4 LBs at once -- and basically all of those guys are "ILB types" in the traditional sense. Their projected starting lineup is 254lb, 259lb, 250lb, 242lb -- backed by 240lb, 236lb, 258lb, 268lb. Reuben Foster is the lightest LB at any position in their 2-deep @ 236lb...

Jimmy recently got fired from his job on Brookhaven. He's now working in Jackson. Not sure if he commutes or has moved, but he does not work in Brookhaven anymore. You can't call your boss a mother 17'er and threaten him in front of the rest of the staff and still have a job.

Lucky for Jimmy, his boss isn't Damon Glanton.

Ultimately we are in agreement that Caban will get an offer, I'm just saying it's b/c they didn't feel good about who they have staying committed. I don't think there is any doubt Bama is slow playing Caban. He's a 6'1 210 MLB that's a composite mid-level 3-star. That's not your typical Bama MLB recruit. If Leo was 100% firm to them, I don't think they would have ever offered. He's in there back yard and they've seen him in person at camps numerous times and keep telling him he's close to an offer. That's what I'm basing my thinking on.

I've thought and been told from day 1, the stars would have to align for MSU to land Caban (meaning no Bama or Auburn offer). Both Bama and Auburn have taken guys higher on their LB boards and both have him on hold. MSU is in the driver seat unless anything changes and a Leo Lewis decommitment certainly qualifies as something changing.

waiting until signing day might be a little late for him to influence others decisions .... although much like an SEC Championship, I keep hope alive to live long enough to actually see us flip a big-time recruit on national TV

Interesting, I also came across some information. Mine may be different but is less vague and I don't care about e-cred so if it's wrong, whateverl: Lewis is about to be an in-state battle.

How does one know when a 17-18 year old guy's mind is "about" to change? I could understand knowing it is "currently" an in-state battle, but how do you conclude that it is "about" to be? Waiting on a check to be delivered or something? I seriously don't know how someone can tell when a high school guy's mind is "about" to change. But it's impressive either way.
