Good luck with that. Your chances of advancing would be a whole lot better if you were 1 or 2 seeds higher than where you are and you know it. You will play one more game and then your season will be over just like ours. But hey, seeding doesn't really matter and Conference Championship games don't either apparently, just meaningless exhibition games basically.

Ty Lawson is hurt....grant it that I don't think we can handle Hansbaby, but I like the fact that we get them now...would love to prove the 6 pack nation wrong...

Since the tournament expanded to 64 teams, #6 seeds are 119-95, while #8 seeds are 64-95. Good luck against #1 North Carolina Saturday. I'm sure it makes no difference playing them instead of a #3 seed to get to the Sweet 16.

but that's neither here nor there...LSU is in the 2nd round and a shot at King NCAA North Carolina. I like it and I hope LSU represents the SEC and upsets the Tar Heels. We'll be ready. It's a meaningful game.

On the other hand, I think you would have had a decent chance against Syracuse.

Just for the record, I caught my mistake and edited it before I saw your correction. I don't go back and edit after I've been caught screwing up. I had originally posted that LSU would have played a #4 seed in the 2nd round if they had been a #6 seed.

you show your lack of manhood by rushing to post this after LSU, a team with much more talent, barely beats Butler, from the mighty Horizon league -- in the SOUTH REGIONAL. After losing to our sophomore team with 25 175 pound guards and one 200 pound center in the SEC tourney which apparently is only meaningful if LSU wins it, which they really haven't done in the modern era of basketball.

meaningless? that would be the SEC regular season title - after losing and failing to make the finals in the SEC tournament.

and finally, you rush to post this because LSU will be thrown out on its *** on Saturday. keep dreaming of anything different cajun boy. and we all know UW would have beaten LSU as well in Oregon.

So do your research before postng a "pathetic" thread like that...Also I remember the same Horizon team ripped a No. 5 seed Bulldog club a few years back

remains, your belief that the lsu players did not want to win their game against us is bunk...no matter what "fans" think

I think everyone wants to win every game they play...but the game wasn't URGENT for LSU to win. I don't know why that is so hard to understand. State had to have it and they played with much more energy than the Tigers did on that given day. LSU played with a much higher energy today against Butler and I thought they played a good game. Butler is not a bad team.

kind of pathetic when you think about the talent LSU has in Mitchell and Mr. SEC Player of the Year Thornton.

You know it, I know it, everyone on this board knows it. But you do have a 1st round NCAA tourney win against the Butler Bulldogs to show proudly along with the SEC regular season title.

and you play every team in the SEC. Congrats on the tourney win, but you got hot at the right time on one weekend. I'll take 2 wins to 1 win over State, regular season title, and a win in the 1st round of the tourney over State's accomplishment this year.

So would I, but to belittle the tournament win by State by saying your guys didn't have a sense of urgency first shows what a douche you are and second implies that your team is not made up of competitors, which I think is incorrect. In short, please shut up.

who's the ultimate douche bag of all.

So are you saying when NFL teams sit their players b/c they have already qualified for the playoffs, then they aren't competitors. I beg to differ. I don't understand why that's a hard concept for you Bulldogs to understand.

this is approaching coach34 stupidity in comparing this two scenarios.
One one hand, you have NFL teams sitting their starters in the last week when all the outcome of the game can't change a seeding.
On the other, you have LSU.. who is in the field, but the seed has not been set.

Thats just stupid to say the LSU players were not playing as hard...
Sure they went in a funk towards the end of the SEC play, but if your coach cant
emphasize and get to them to play to their full potential, then Trent Johnson has big problems.

Be happy with your regular season championship, its a great accomplishment and I would take it any day over the tournament championship
but don't downplay the win by us.

Laettner may have been a douche to the Duke haters like you, especially when he PWNED Shaq and your Tigers in a home and home and flipped off the LSU students in the process, but I guarantee you he never laid down in a game when there was a championship on the line. Or a game period for that matter.

Your analogy is as stupid as you are. If an NFL team is qualified for the playoffs and can't improve their seeding, they don't play their starters the whole game. The backups come in and compete. I think if we check that boxscore your starters played the whole game until Trent gave up with a couple of minutes left.

Go suck a boudin.

your Cream rankings in football season. But your complete and total dumbassedry about the SEC tournament really is getting as bad as Coach 34 has ever gotten on his Stansbury sucks rants. Please do yourself a favor and save yourself more embarrassment on this. You're just wrong and everybody on this board knows you're wrong. Hell, YOU even know you're wrong.

went from the "meaningless" argument to the "urgency" argument??? just face it, we were the better team that day, regardless of "urgency." these guys are competitors. they wanna win every game, regardless of what some people on a message board may think. i can guarantee trent was trying to win.

**edited to add: the nfl comparison is bunk. apples & oranges.

When all else fails and there is nothing relevant to say or nothing to support facts, one tends to lean on trash talking another's wife or calling them a "douche". It makes for less than humorous reading. If only they knew the war of words we have had...man, that would make for some good sports talk radio

Signed,
Stallion, and all the other No. 1 seeds who lost early in the conference tournament (i.e., OU, UNC, Pitt, UConn, Washington, Mich. St., LSU) I'm seeing a pattern. Also, the NCAA didn't let it affect other seeds terribly either. MSU fans, you are terribly mistaken if you think LSU would have been a 4, 5, or may be even a 6-seed if LSU had won the tournament. The projections were really never that high all year long for LSU.

I will no longer comment on this thread and move on to a different topic, b/c I think it's time to move on.

Are you really lumping LSU's seeding situation going into the conference tournaments with that of the teams you listed?

All but Washington had a #1 or #2 seed locked up. They truly did have nothing to really play for.

honestly believe lsu's players/coaches didn't want to win that game then you either a) never played sports in your life (but you were a badass on the clarinet) b) did play sports, but was a benchwarmer at some small private/public school (most likely, private)...that is all

......accomplished a "meaningful" thing when we won the SEC Tourney championship title. And unless LSU gets to the Sweet 16 or beyond, they haven't done anything more meaningful in the NCAA tourney than what MSU did. Those are objective facts, not personal opinions or fanboyism.

Grow up.
