Watching this basketball team is nearing the point of watching Schiano's teams

The margin for error has been small for most of the season. It was difficult for the Rutgers team to excell at both ends of the court which resulted in so many games decided by five or less points. The home court advantage disappeaed at the end of the season.

Figured they’d be 16-15 (8-12) with a first round exit in the B1G Tourney. I was ecstatic at 16-7 (8-4) after that MSG game. The last 6 weeks leave a really rotten taste in my mouth. Simpson was the lone bright spot for me this year and most of that came in the last week+. Looking forward to a fresh start with MANY new faces in November.

Looking forward to a break from RU MBB.

Haven't been a basketball fan long huh? We were one win a way from just our 12th 20 win season. There is nothing about this team to compare it to football. Football is unwatchable at this point. Say what you will this was still one our best teams of the last 30 years.

Plenty of good memories but also some of the most heart wrenching agonizing years off my life torture that any sports team has ever subjected me to. My heart goes out to the guys but I'm ready for a break. Sheesh
Hear! Hear! The last month has been torturous. I will sit back and watch the NCAA's and enjoy them as much as when Rutgers wasn't in the tourney for nearly 30 years. I will think back on this season fondly, like the Purdue win, the comeback against PSU, the win at Wisconsin and blowing out Indiana on our home court. The rest is just mush.

Easily the most disappointing of Pike’s seasons. It’s kind of a relief that it’s over.
Honestly… I think this team still exceeded expectations.

Coming into the season there was no way anyone thought we would look as good as we did the first 1/2 of the season… What is nut crushing disappointing is that we couldn’t sustain it because we just didn’t have the depth and multiple injuries to key guys.

Collapse is NOT the right word…. Fizzled out is more the feeling I have. We just ran out of gas and didn’t have enough in the tank.

Goo luck to all the graduates and thanks for the memories.

I was pleased with the B1G tournament. Officiating sucked, but was proud of the team

Been watching Rutgers for nearly 20 years, and basketball since I was probably 7-8 years old. This team is so bad offensively that the feeling of watching the two sports is very similar.

Need to pick up a few transfers, and thank god Gavin, Ndongo and Davis are coming.

I’m somewhat saying it jokingly, but I never imagined that the ending of this basketball season would have me getting fired up Rutgers Football….

Weird…..

The good thing about the football games is that the team stinks, has stunk forever, I'm never nervous, and if the game is competitive I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm also never upset for more than 5 minutes after the game ends.

A fun low stress Saturday activity.

The downside to football games is they're too damn long. 3 hours and 45 mintues!

I agree and I’ve been watching for 40 years longer than you. Ugly basketball and poor fundamentals. They got by on grit and hustle. They ended up where they deserved.

the football team give you 0 reason to hope for anything, it's just inevitable 3-9 or 4-9.

Basketball at least gives you a reason to dream. Fell apart down the stretch, hope for next year.
