You had us so damn bad that a new coach can come in here, have a losing record, and still be on a short list for another head coaching job. It is amazing that we can have a losing record and people across the country realize what a good job Mullen has done. Thank you crooms. </p>

That we needed to hold onto him like a bad credit rating. Or the big deal made about his buyout to go to another SEC school.

..& I thought rebel nation was going off their rails with their conspiracy theories.

It's amazing how this board constantly plays that Kevin Bacon six degrees of separation with Croom.

Let me try:

1) Croom played under Bear Bryant.

2) Bear Bryant coached at Alabama.

3) Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote a song called "Sweet Home Alabama."

4) Most of Lynyrd Skynyrd died in a plane crash near McComb, MS.

5) Croom once visited McComb on a recruiting trip.

6) OMG! Croom killed Lynyrd Skynyrd!

Croom had taken us to such pitiful depths offensively, and it's easy to take his five year performance, and see vast positive improvement...with about the same players.

This alone signifies that Mullen has something to offer

He let some get away, but most coaches do. He'll improve year to year in that regard. Emotional coaches like Mullen and Nutt have to learn when to dial it up. I'd say that's the only real fault with him that anyone could have this year, and I guess the recruiting isn't stellar right now but there's a long way to go.

Nice jump to conclusions Ronny. The point is, Croom left this program is such ****** shape...that Mullen was able to come in, still have a losing record, yet be mentioned for other coaching jobs. To use a ****** cliche, Mullen made lemonade out of lemons. Why is this hard to understand?

he also did this with a midget playing QB and the toughest schedule in the country.

Heck, he has us to the point where him going to Kansas would essentially be a lateral move for him.

If he leaves, I think he will go somewhere like Auburn or Georgia if he keeps doing well.
