A gutty win but more important, Jack goes out on a winning note. I wonder how many smiles and tears there were when Jack said "Wrap it in Maroon and White"?

Football gamedays will not be the same without your voice ringing through the air. Thanks to Coach Stansbury and Kodi, Rayvern, Dee, BB, Riley, and Wendell for gutting out a win.<div>

Made it through a lot of Saturdays in Iraq listening to you paint the perfect picture of MSU football.

"Soundtrack of my life"

That was perfect. Truly been a large part of many wonderful memories for so many of us.

I grew up an OM fan in an OM family. Believe me, even growing up in those circles, I was quick to learn of the legendary status that Jack Cristil is. The man is a Mississippi legend. Saturday afternoons in the fall are going to have a huge hole in them without that man's voice riding the airwaves.

I miss him already. The very thought of not hearing his golden voice emanating from my radio makes me want to cry.

God Bless you Jack formy life time of great memories of Mississippi Statefootball and basketball.

Jack has left the building and now I'm gonna get kinda misty.

You're also the standard by which I judge all sports broadcasts now. Very few even come close.

You not only brought fans together for games, you brought generations together. Kids, parents, grandparents, all sat together to here your unique and unmatched broadcast of State games.

Whether it was sitting with my father or grandfather or friends or now my own family, we were all together for the same reason, to here you expertly describe the action unfolding in front of you. When State won, we all felt your excitement, when State lost we all felt your pain and felt just a little better about it by the way you would weave subtle comedy into your description of the events unfolding before you.

I remember your voice long before I actually remember going to a game at Scott Field. When my dad and granddad finally took me to a game, it was as if I had seen it before, although I had not been there, I had seen the picture that you painted and it was dead on.

I cannot fathom listening to a State football game without hearing your voice. I have already spoken to my father and grandfather tonight about your last broadcast, once again, you have brought all of us together.

Thank You.

For everything you've given our beloved university.

Hey Athletic Department lurkers.... make sure Mr. Cristil receives this thread.

It's getting dusty in here.
