Was it

1 goin for it? or
2 not having a hot route in the playbook? or
3 not at least rolling Dak out?

All of the above for me.

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
They are not dumb just STUPID. Punt the <17> ball.
And Bell must give great head. That is the only reason I can imagine why he is still kicking and even punting now.

Not so much the fourth down call for me..

I don't mind it so much..your punter is hurt, your FG kicker forced into punt duty suddenly kicks better than he catches, it's the stupid third down call beforehand. RUN THE DAMN BALL! You probably get a more manageable fourth down, but even if the run is stuffed, you make them burn their last timeout before the fourth and eleven (which coincidentally seems to be the max range for Devon bell). The low percentage pass on third was just stupid. One stupid of many offensive stupids all night.

The punter was not hurt........

According to Mullen, Bell punted the ball better in practice this week than Swendenburg . Never mind that Swedenburg has been a stud in games for two years now.

The whole final drive sealed it for me. Dan does not know how to win close games.

Mullen was content putting the game in the hands of his defense. A score of any type would win the game, but the offense didn't really try. I just can't understand that at all. Has Dan been watching the same defense we have been watching all season? Was he at the Auburn game?

So, obviously content to rely on his defense, the offense goes ultra conservative on play calling. Now, I agree with going somewhat conservative and milking the clock, but you shouldn't continually put yourself in 3rd and long. Run some option plays and even throw a few passes. Try to score and win the damn game.

On that fourth down, given plenty of time to think about it, I think I would have lined up for the fieldgoal, snapped the ball directly to Bell, and let him pooch punt it over the defense....

Are you serious, Clark?

At the game, we had no idea why Swede started and then came out, just assumed injury.

Hell of a time to send a message. Fourth down, backed up on the two, hell let the FG kicker who can't kick field goals take the place of one of your best and most consistent players. makes about as much sense as half the play calls.

Figured the cold got to Swede and he tweaked something. Amazing.

Swedenburg punted again after that debacle. If he wanted Bell to punt, great. But, given that Bell has had a case of the yips, since around game 1 of this season, why the 17 would you put him in to punt with his heels on the back line of the endzone?

Another Brilliant play call by Dan. It's like he isn't watching the game at all.
Dan is not a smart coach, but he's rich thanks to our $2.7 M...

Fake field goal pooch punt is too creative and makes too much sense. Plus it wouldn't work since Bell has never practiced punting...oh wait*
