As far as things I didn’t expect to be saying this weekend goes, I sure hope we can somehow salvage the series tomorrow. Hell, we’re a 2-out rally away from being on the verge of getting swept

Here come the “welp, that’s Baseball!!” comments, but this an embarrassing display

What in the wide world of sports is happening to this team? One off night happens. Two in a row is pathetic and against a terrible team to boot.

We’ve been playing remarkably bad baseball since about halfway through game two at Carolina. Probably the worst baseball we’ve played over a 3.5 game stretch of the Lemonis era. It’s like the bad news bears out there defensively right now. We give away way too much to our opponents on the mound and defensively- wild pitches, non-competitive walks, booting ground balls in left field, etc.

I’d rather be playing poorly now than three weeks from now, but it’s time to tighten this **** up.

We've hit what looks to be a pretty severe Team Slump. Our starting pitching has looked bad for several games now. The errors are getting worse and occurring at the worst times. Much of our bullpen has been less than their normal. We have to get better hitting when runners are on base.
Hope we can get out of it before the regionals. Tomorrow will be tough. And Bama is not going to be any easier.

Highly. It takes failure in every aspect of the game to lose to a team as bad as Missouri, and we’ve now played that way two consecutive nights. They need to snap out of it quickly

I think the easiest way to describe this team is that other than Landon Sims and Tanner Allen being consistently great and our defense being consistently bad, nothing else about this team is consistent at all.

We are capable of beating anybody in the country or losing to bad teams like Kent State or Missouri on any given day. It makes us incredibly hard to predict for the postseason. We could smoke everybody on our way to Omaha or get our teeth get kicked in by some mid-major team in a Regional.

Yep. Even the good baseball teams hit a dry run for a few games. Our pitching has not been lights out and it seems every walk or error leads to a run. Nothing seems to go your way while you are in this funk.

At least the post game comments from the team and coaches sound like they are very, very unhappy with things.

I kinda wish they would remember that this is really not the time to start pressuring themselves. They should get in the top 8 and host both regional steps.

I would like to see them get loose again especially in the field and on the mound. Just better fielding and a little better pitching wins the game tonight.

Stop pressing. Have some 17ing fun.

You’re embarrassed?

Some people have feelings, even strong feelings about the teams they follow in sports and it can manifest in different ways for different people. For example: some people can be pricks for no real reason except to be a prick when someone expresses unhappiness about their team's play so they can try to make them look foolish, yet fail miserably.

It's true. No ****.

You can find research on this phenomenon if you care to look.

I think it’s the law of averages. We’ve had some fortunate games and won some close ones we could have easily lost to some bad teams. Now we’re starting to lose some of those games.

Actually 3 in a row. Good thing the midweek game was cancelled. I'm sue Rowdy and Tanner are getting tired of carrying this team.

In the short term there is still a lot on the line and the pieces are there to get to Omaha this year. That IS the goal.

Next year we will see what Lemonis is all about after we lose the core of the lineup and the core of the pitching staff. What did we have, 18 seniors recognized yesterday and that doesn’t count the juniors we probably lose.

Meh, still an iron clad, 100% locked and loaded national seed no matter what. Rather have a stretch like this now than a month from now.

Lemonis, made a bad decision tin the third game of SC by not bringing in Sims in the 9th. He is our #1 weapon, but we are afraid to let a relief pitcher relieve **** he throws more pitches warming up than in an inning of work.
