We outscored both of those teams on the other defense. Turnovers and defense. Too bad Husker fans are not smart enough to see the actual problems.

That looked like 90's era Husker football on that drive. Nine minutes! I think the Huskers did that to Tennessee in one of the bowl games they played them.
That's what I was thinking as well. Here is a link to that game. That drive starts at the 51:35 mark.

The last drive reminded me of the Cornhuskers drive in the game of the century. Jeff Kinney scoring with that torn jersey

+1 that is what I thought too.

2000 Fiesta bowl we had the lead and we weren't behind like MSU last night.

Iowa should have let MSU score after they converted the 4th down at the 3 with about 1:20 left

If Iowa had a better offense I'd probably agree but that offense is not built to run a two minute offense. That drive took 22 plays and it wasn't easy for Sparty to put the ball in to the endzone. When they say it's a game of inches they're not kidding. They were inches from a 4th down stop, inches from stopping that third down TD, etc. I think Ferentz made the right decision because the last thing I'd want to rely on in that game was the Iowa offense, MSU shut them down in the second half aside from one big play.

4 out of the 5 MSU starting offensive line were named to the all conf team by the coaches (2 first teamers)
if people think we are going to emulate them with our current off line they are crazy
we all want to be able to line up and push people off the ball - but you have to have the horses to do it otherwise you are just running into a brick wall
hopefully in a few years we will be closer from an O-line point of view

Good thing MSU's idiot OC realized he had that line and could run it at a worn down undersized iowa D on the final drive. Because the rest of the game he sucked. Got cute when he didnt need to the rest of the game.

We are so foolish to not be running this type offense anymore. Funny 3 of the 4 teams in the playoff. Lean on a power running game.
MSU was only running that offense because their QB could barely lift his right arm

Wow... I just forget sometimes how dominating those teams were. They just lined up in I formation, nothing tricky, just ran straight ahead with the offensive line plowing the road. At the snap of the ball the Oline truly looks like an explosion. Straight ahead with power and speed that drives the Defense back 10-15 yards at a time. Also forget how shifty Crouch was. He just made people miss and look stupid doing so. That 1999-2000 team would beat the living piss out of any of our recent teams.
