How did they get shafted?

That was the right call. You can't block downfield before a pass thrown beyond the LOS is caught... he was flat out blocking the guy.

People hate FSU and the rapist so much they're pissed about an obvious offensive pass interference. That was about the most obvious one I've seen. FSU has become the team everyone loves to hate.

That was a BS call no doubt. Herbie said it was the correct call just because he is part of the propaganda machine.

I have lost all respect for FSU and Jimbo. He said that the team is a family of character and good men. Winston should not even be on the field.

Please tell me how it was BS? I was pulling for ND and I'll tell you flat out it was the right call. You can't block downfield on a pass thrown beyond the LOS until AFTER the ball is thrown. That was 100% the right call. Love FSU, or hate them... the officials got that one right. It allowed the receiver to come wide *** open in the endzone.

LOL....the ND guy picked TWO players. I don't even fully understand the "pick" rule but even I could see that was about the most obvious flag.

And it wasn't just one guy blocking. They had two of then doing it. Totally the right call and kudos to the crew for calling it right vs hiding behind the excuse of not wanting the refs to decide the game

Like that goofy-assed looking Huckleberry Hound sounding mother17'n ref wasn't looking for an excuse to bail out the Criminoles.

But that hold/block was pretty obvious. If they'd thrown that pass behind the line of scrimmage, it would have been legal. And ND still might have scored.
Oh well. Drop FSU to 3rd. Drop ND out of the top 5. Problem solved.

The FSU guy was 1 yard off him...he started forward and FSU engaged him. He had no where to run a route. It should have been a no call.

There was no way for him to avoid any contact. Guess he just should have just stayed still. Oh well I won my side.

Ok, I guess I don't know the rules. Thought you could block defender within 5 yards from LOS before ball is thrown. So it must not apply to blocking in end zone. If that is rule then it was definitely Interference.

If the ball never crosses the line of scrimmage, it's okay to block. Pass interference only applies beyond the LOS. That's why screen plays are allowed. If the ND receiver had stayed behind the LOS, it would have been a completely legal play (and probably would have worked). They got greedy and rightly got called out for it.

Define "block"

Really "Block" didn't have anything to do with the offensive Pass Interference Call It was a PICK. Which is illegal. there is some gray area in a pick, but that was was pretty clear. you can get away with a pick if you actually are running a pass route. Steve Spurrier is the master of pick plays that don't get called.
