NFL suspended Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

Blackmon has been arrested twice for drunk driving, but both offenses were settled before he signed his rookie contract. He was not suspended. It means he's committed a new violation. The Jags protected themselves against future transgressions in Blackmon's contract, writing in language that wiped away all his post-signing bonus ($7.11 million) guarantees if he were suspended. Blackmon will be eligible to return October 6 against the Rams.

Maybe he is addicted, but he doesn't have to drive when he's drunk. With over $7M, he can afford a full time chauffeur.

Yeah, I guess they knew of his propensity to drink and drive

But he wasn't suspended, so he didn't lose the money. Or so says the article. Then it says he's eligible to return at some date. Seems contradictory.

Maybe he was born with a propensity to drink, therefore it wasn't his choice. He didn't harm anyone when he drank. Maybe we should celebrate him and put him on a pedestal. He is courageous and I am proud of him. He is definitely being discriminated against.

If I'm reading that correctly that doesn't necessarily mean he won't get that $7.11 million it just means he's no longer guaranteed to get it. Right?

He puts others at risk by drunk driving.

Which is not remotely comparable to what you are trying to compare it to. I would say you are smart enough to conclude that, but I might be reaching...

You can put others at risk from other activities that have been discussed on here. I can speak with far more knowledge about the subject than most who simply think they know, seeing something from a distance.

What's the connection?

What's the aids rate of homosexuals vs heterosexuals?

STDs are the repercussion (in most cases) of having unprotected sex with people you shouldn't be having unprotected sex with. Choice leads to result. I am at very little risk of getting HIV based on my life choices, so I don't feel threatened.

On the other hand, I don't have much practical choice in protecting myself from a drunk driver t-boning me at an intersection.

Wasn't mr Collins in a heterosexual relationship while he was gay? Seems he put her at a risk of aids she didnt ask for either

Very true. Answer this.

No all drunks wreck

Let's dumb down the point so you can comprehend. Let's say you are driving down the road. Your passenger has AIDS. You are sharing the same road with a drunk driver. What is more likely? You catch AIDS or you get injured by the drunk driver?

Answer this. If Collins fiancée was driving down the road is she more likely to hit by a drunk or get aids from her fiancé?

Sure, there are loads of risky behavior.

You can put others at risk from other activities that have been discussed on here. I can speak with far more knowledge about the subject than most who simply think they know, seeing something from a distance.

I'm just trying to understand the connection between a drunk driver and a gay man.

Probably still over his head...gotta aim really, really low.

First, you have to know if Collins has AIDS.

Answer this. If Collins fiancée was driving down the road is she more likely to hit by a drunk or get aids from her fiancé?

I'm not going to assume he does just because he's gay. That's dumb. So my first answer is she's much more likely that she gets hit by a drunk driver.

If you want to give me the hypothetical scenario of what I think of a person who has AIDS and they chose to have unprotected sex with others, I'd call that person a reckless POS.
