TrueIf there is such a town considered high class in EKY then Pikeville and Prestonsburg would be on the list.

I thought Jackson would have been on that list, been wondering when/if it would be mentioned by someone.Prestonsburg is upscale urban compared to Jackson Breathitt county. Also no way you can have a top ten list and not put Manchester on there that town personifies redneck.
Where did you go to high school? Paintsville or JC?
When I was there the town was dry and they had nothing there to eat except fast food restaurants and a Shoney's. Our school didn't have a cafeteria so we made our rounds to every one of those fast food chains.
I liked the old Middlesboro Wal-Mart much better than the new store.my alma mater coming in at 106th -- and STILL SHOWING a Population of over 10k
GIVE IT UP FOR THE MIDDLESBORO YELLAJACKETS PEOPOE!!!!
[laughing] at Hazard not being #1 on the list... unless "backwoods" doesn't count as "redneck". Lived there for 3 years during grad school.

I dunno. Yellow jackets made the playoffs this past year, but were blown out. Bell County HS has fielded some strong teams over the years.whatddup, TX
I still have a soft spot for "Village Sq Mall"
QUESTION:Why does Someerst always neat MBoro in football when they're not any bigger of a town???? Damnit -- we always lost to Corbin too --- those are just better football schools in general I guess….
come to think about it _ I guess it's the whole "Independent" school vs Counthy school=== Somersret and Corbin are better compassion s to Bell CO I guess
I did not mean Irvine geographically, I know where it is. I meant where is it on the list? The few times I have been down there I've seen a couple of psycho scary people. His wife was alright though. but even she had false teeth.[smoke]Where is Irvine?
Anyone been to Sparta in Robinson County?
It's Mayberry 2.0, nice little town. I have never been anywhere that reminds me of Mayberry more than that place.
I've not been there in several years, I hope it hasn't changed.

You mean Mt. Olivet in Roberson County? Near Blue Licks state park.
I'd have to put Carlisle, KY on the list. They have farm tractor parade or some ride your tractor to school day.
You can really tell how small a town is when several of the businesses are owned by the same family.
Carlisle at number 1 or the list is a joke.
he one time I've been to Hazard I thought it looked like a nice town to live in. Was I wrong?
I really shouldn't have, but I laughed my *** off at that for some reason.Carlisle is fairly red, but I know a guy from Nicholasville who can't tie a tie and eats chicken fingers for every meal. Really soured me on that place tbh
Sparta isn't far from Mt Olivet, it's only a few miles, might be just across the county line. It's been several years since I was there.
I have to agree with your post however.
That's odd. I would actually say that p-burg is one of the least redneck towns in Kentucky. It's not exactly Milan, but come on... corbin... richmond... whitesburg... leitchfield... liberty
Somerset shouldnt be that high. We have lots of gays and metrosexuals.
Been to London, Hazard, Benton, Corbin, and Morehead. Every damn one of them wouldn't make the top 25 in South Carolina.
This actually explains a lot.Glad to see my hometown accomplished something. I disagree with it being the most redneck. I've been to far worse places in the state than Pburg.

When you say " you were raised in marrowbone " that makes it seem like you are quite a bit older than me.
Are you still close?
Isn't a town named "Hickman" self explanatory?be better to call that the top 10 redneck tourist towns in Kentucky - list is a joke. Benton representing far western Kentucky (Purchase region, west of Tennessee river) is ok, but to say Benton is more redneck than either the towns of Fulton or Hickman is like saying the moon is brighter than the sun.
