The 6 minutes and 21 seconds that may have saved the season

Rutgers is down 18-11 and struggling to really do anything on offense, when Cliff Omoruyi is called with his second foul. There are 6 minutes and 21 seconds left in what was, up to then, a putrid first half. The season hangs in the balance.

And then Antwone Woolfolk checked into the game to replace Omoruyi.

Rutgers proceeds to go on a 14-5 run over the next five minutes to pull ahead 25-23, and the man they call Woolf led the charge. He got a putback off a Simpson drive and miss. He got a steal. He got a bucket on a post move over Hunter Dickinson. And he got a rebound and proceeded to do his best Magic Johnson impression, dribbling coast to coast for a layup in between two Michigan defenders.

Michigan would close the half on a 5-0 run to take a 28-25 lead at the half, but that still meant that Rutgers more than survived Omoruyi’s absence - instead, Woolf led the team on a game changing 14-10 run to turn this game around and give the Scarlet Knights some momentum heading into the locker room.

A tremendous team effort ultimately won the game, but it doesn’t happen without 6 minutes and 21 seconds of superb play by the young freshman.

dont see much similarity with Kent on the basketball court, and despite Woolfolk’s football background, and Kent’s shot in the NFL at TE, they still arent similar players.

Just posted something similar on the RT. The season was on the line at the 6:21 mark. It looked bleak. Wolf was tremendous.

The only thing I disagree with, I felt the team looked good: connected, relaxed, having fun, playing downhill even in the first half. We couldn't hit the broadside of a barn and yet were in shouting distance. We were outplaying them, just needed a few shots to fall.

That drive the length of the floor was glorious .. a highlight of the season like Derek’s dunk .. brought to mind the same thing CJ Gettys did against Iowa at the RAC some years ago .. except I don’t think this was a fluke, Wolf can handle the basketball

If we got the typical play from Wolf or Dean we have been seeing all conference play long the season would have ended

Wolf was heroic

He was hungry like the Wolf.

Great team Defense while he was in and he put the ball in the basket. Dribbling the length of the court was a huge bonus.

Much different
I think wolf has 3-4 inches on kent
Kent was a big body, but short for a big man
Classic tweener
