I tried dm'ing you back, not sure if you received my message or not, my screen froze when I hit reply. Im still having all kinds of issues with the app.
I included a couple of screenshots of when it froze . The first is trying to change topics the next is when I tried to respond to you

Any additional info you can provide would be super helpful in trying to track down the issue. Been chatting with Ben, but thought it could be useful to surface the questions I'm passing along in case any one else comes across the thread having issues.

• Is it just the Forums tab?
• Does it take a hard close of the app to get it running again (and then presumably start slowing down once you've gone back into forums?)
• Once it happens, are you able to switch tabs? Or does the entire app become unresponsive
• What Android device model
• What Android OS version
• How much available RAM/storage does the device have
• Anything else you can think of that could be helpful in tracking down the problem

1. Yes, it seems to occur with me on with the Forums. Reading or posting. Pms are also freezing as I tried to message my site administrator @BenSherman multiple times today
2. Yes - You have to do a hard close then it seemingly is good for a second but locks back up

7. It seems to me ( only a guess) that it might possibly be related to the footer ads. Its almost like in some instances the ads are slowing down the app or not loading properly and crash occurs. I have experienced no problems with website .

We're still looking into it. Seems to be primarily Samsung devices (though there have been a couple on Pixels that have seen it as well).

• When you say clicking back off the page, does that mean you're still able to select a different tab in the app?
  • Are you still able to navigate the forums tab itself?
  • Does hard closing the app alleviate the issue at all?
  • If hard closing the app does help at all, does the problem reappear eventually (guessing it does, but just trying to make sure)

• What Samsung device model

This is a weird issue, and it's been a pain trying to track down/reproduce. The best thing we could get is is screen grab video showing a reproduction of the issue from as early on in the app launch as possible. Let's us see the entire flow that got you into the problem, if it is ad related then we can see which ads were present when the issue occurred, if ads swapped out, etc. But any info that can be provided is always appreciated.

Ive out of necessity been going to the web browser to access IC. I just went to the app and immediately screen froze before I could even click in forum or have page load. Not sure if this helps .

i have the same issue. I have a Samsung Android 16, model Galaxy A53 5G UW. I can open the app, look at stories,, My team, database but anytime I open forums, it freezes after trying to use them. They won't change from one to another, scrolling down, they stop showing any replies after the first few. It's just unusable. The ads do show at the bottom, sometimes there is a flashing icon with forums plus a red circle number. The task bar with tabs at the bottom just says forum, not forums like it used to. I can use my laptop which I am using now to log this problem. Very frustrating, because it used to work fine. Something has been updated/changed, not sure what. I don't know how to do screenshots so sorry about that.
I did uninstall and reinstall, no change.

For those of you having trouble with the forums on Android app, would you mind updating the system's WebView (if it isn't already)? Trying to pinpoint why it's only certain devices on Android experiencing the issue, and this is one possible underlying cause.

I uninstalled the Android System Webview on my phone and reinstalled the app. There were 3 different variations on the app store. I used the Android System Webview Dev and it appears to be working. Thanks for the suggestion. We'll see if the fix holds.

I uninstalled as well,and it definitely is better. Especially navigating through the forums. I did get a freeze when trying to reply to this post initially but seems to be working now . Fingers crossed

Definitely seems to be associated with the WebView component that Forums uses and how it interacts with the system/device's WebView. We're still looking into how to mitigate the issue from our end, but glad that updating the WebView seems to have worked for at least a portion of you guys. Bummer it didn't work well for everyone.

For the time being, if Forums are unusable on the app because of the freezing, the recommendation is to access on3.com on your phone's browser. I'll keep @BenSherman informed on any progress (but I'll also try to remember to keep swinging by this thread to add any news and receive any more information that could be helpful in getting this corrected properly).

Had to go to my laptop to post this message...hope there is a solution soon. I have tried all of the fixes previously offered, (while operated fine for a brief period) but nothing is permanent.

Yep same here you have to go to a web browser to post or view forums. I just tried again and it didnt recognize me as even being logged in and then the frozen screen
