was built for $28 million from scratch. The drainage system under the field cost over a million... we've already got that in place. The transportation system/parking lots to Trustmark cost several million in construction... we've already got that in place. Buying the land/ROW to build it another few million, again not an issue for us.
We could build Trustmark Park on our existing site in Starkville for $25 million or so. I'd MUCH rather do this than spend $10 million "renovating" what we have only to end up with a stadium that's still uncomfortable and outdated that practically no one is happy with.
When A&M enters the fray next year, we will have, at best, the 5th nicest stadium in the western division...and you can consider Plainsman a toss-up, so we're only legitimately better than Bama.
