Here are the rankings as of right now.

First, the automatic bids.

SEC - Auburn (assuming a win next week)
Pac 10 - Oregon
Big 12 - Oklahoma/Nebraska
Big 10 - Wisconsin
ACC - Va. Tech/FSU
Big East - UConn?

If you look at the at large picture, obviously TCU gets one. Stanford gets one. Ohio State is next on the list and would give the Big 10 two teams. Arkansas would get the last spot if they pass this weekend's losing teams. Probably the biggest remaining question is whether or not Boise drops enough to fall below Arkansas. They should if there is any justice in the world. Michigan State can't go because they would be the third from the Big 10. Oklahoma State and Bama losing makes Arkansas next if they can jump Boise.

If this happens, this makes sense. The two leagues that are playing for the NC get two in. The Big 10 gets two in. And the down Big 12, ACC, and Big East only get one.

If the SEC gets two in, here is how I see the bowls going...

NC - Auburn
Sugar - Arkansas
Cap One - LSU
Cotton - Bama
Outback - SC
Peach - MSU
Gator - Florida
Music City - UT/UGA
Liberty - UT/UGA
Birmingham - Kentucky

The Peach should want us over Florida. We have a better record, won head to head, and we are much more excited to be there. Florida needs a local bowl to have a crowd. Either the Music City or Liberty would love UT on a 4 game streak. I wouldn't be surprised to see UT go to Memphis and UGA to go to Nashville. This would be better for crowd size at both bowls. Can't see UGA bringing a big crowd to Memphis. However, if the Music City gets to pick before Memphis, I bet they take UT.

If for some reason the SEC just gets one in,...

NC - Auburn
Cap One - Arkansas
Cotton - LSU
Outback - SC
Peach - Bama
Gator - MSU
Music City - UF
Liberty - UT/UGA
Birmingham - UT/UGA

We really need Arkansas to get that BCS bid. Or, alternatively, we need SC to beat Auburn. SC would get the automatic bid, and a one loss Auburn team would almost certainly get an at large somewhere.

It's not a matter of where Arkansas is ranked. They're both in the at-large pool. The Sugar Bowl gets to pick. They will pick Arkansas.
