This is our third straight season not good enough to earn a bid. That's not a good trend. This trend is a direct result of terrible half court offense, mismanagement of players, and lack of discipline. And 2009 and 2010 were colossal underachievments.

It's also clear Rick just doesn't have the fire

This thing has run it's course.

but at some a coach has run his course at a school or for his career. The Recruiter has reached that point</p>

Could McCarthy coach the team better from his grave than Stansbury? It's possible.

The Rick Stansbury we had for his first seven years was a good coach. The Rick Stansbury we have had for the last six years, not so much. And that Rick Stansbury sure as hell is NOT the best basketball coach we have ever had. You really think there is nobody out there who can take MSU to more than two NCAA appearances in 6 years? You really think we can't find a coach who will field a team that doesn't embarrass the university both on and off the court every year?

Damn, he gets a 2 seed one damn year and gets upset in the 2nd round and some of you give him a lifetime pass and stick your head in the sand.

How about this. How about YOU tell us how keeping Rick Stansbury will improve this program instead. I can't wait to hear this one.

and that had been my defense against a change for years. As incompetent as Stansbury and his staff have been at times over the years, as long as we're winning titles and going to the NCAA tournament, I would not approve a change. That may not be enough for some fans, but I personally think that's about all you're going to get out of the MSU program and the last thing I wanted to see was a new coach come in and blow what little hope we had each season.

That said, the current situation has gone well beyond wins and losses. The players have no respect for the coaches, each other, or the game itself. The media thinks the MSU program is a joke, and some such as Michael Wilbon have come right out and said it. Fan interest is declining as ticket sales have dropped off for I believe the first time in about 7-8 years. Finally, when you watch them play, I have rarely in my life seen a team that just goes out on the floor and more or less does whatever the hell they want.

I don't know who/what the answer is for 2012 and I'm not going to pretend that I do, but I know for certain that Stansbury is not part of it.
