Yup and most of the teams left in the PAC 12 and ACC are in the same boat. Thus the Big 12 is the most stable and in the best position to make the best coalition of the dispossessed.
Should be in best position no doubt. If that warrants a contract anything equal to SEC and B1G is very unlikely.

No chance at catching the Big 10 or SEC for sure. Big 12, and very likely WVU, are never going to be on the Big 10 or SEC level. Facing that reality, being the next best thing to those power conferences is the most optimal AND realistically attainable outcome for both.

Some schools are gonna have to come to terms they aren’t worthy enough of the Big10 and SEC. And there’s some great programs that fit the bill. The goal needs to be strength in numbers and build the brand.

If B12 doesn't act fast to increase the numbers by taking as many PAC P5 teams as they can ( IMO AT LEAST 4 ) they run the risk of letting PaC rebuild a d lose the opportunity to solidify the #3 slot in conference pecking order.

You mean #1 in Tier 2

Tier #1! Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Rutgers, Maryland, Minnesota, South Carolina, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa…WHOOPEEEEE

No hope for any Tier #2 league. College football success is based solely on profit and the rich will “win.”

Wake me when Texas wins a national title while counting money at the same time.

Better than #1 in G5. Without expansion and decimating PAC that is where B12 is headed. Look what happened to BE. Once considered stronger than PAC and ACC. Trangassole stood pat and got picked picked apart. Now AAC and is fighting to stay ahead of MWC and Sunbelt.

Being in tier 2, the fan bases will shrink, no matter if it is the #1 conference there.

I would say with the loss of their top 3 programs the AAC is now below the MWC and Sunbelt.

San Diego State and Memphis are making the investments needed and add to the footprint. then add AZ and Colorado. which also add to the footprint. Utah doesn't add footprint even though they are a better program than Colorado. Maybe go to 18 and add SDState, Memphis, Arizona, Utah Colorado and Boise State. PAC would lose 3 current members and two possible replacement schools. Big12 gets five new states in the footprint and still has 2 slots remaining to get the conference to 20. Memphis lets you have an Eastern pod right now without waiting for the ACC to implode. I could live with it.

Quit adding G5 schools when you have a chance to kill the PAC and get P5 schools to remain the 3rd best conference behind SEC and B1G.
