The university just issued an apology on its Facebook page and said it will not air it again. Come on, it was not bad at all!! I hate our fans!!!!

The University apologized?

For what? I kinda like the commercial. And it's shown on national broadcast television all the time. Are the blue hairs jealous or what?

And besides, many, perhaps most, of them spend the day watching much worse things on their soap operas.

It was much better than the local redneck ads they have, e.g, "downtown Lewis-vuuuuul".

According to MSU Football @HailStateFB, the commercial has been pulled and will not be shown again at DWS. Score one for Twitter.....

Now that I agree with. The guy next to me smelled like a distillery and was beginning to act ... drunk. And they're going to try and ban smoking next year?

Did they apologize for playing Purple Haze to begin the second half when we are playing the purple and gold?

That one's not so bad, but's getting a bit old. It's either Janis Joplin from the '60s, or a very good impersonator. Janis wasn't a redneck, but was a dopehead for sure. Died of an overdose, and was a biggie in the Haight-Ashbury goings on in San Francisco. Pretty sleazy individual, but a good singer, or at least a unique one. Had some very popular songs, and the Mercedes Benz song was one of them. Another was "Me and Bobby McGhee".

Wasn't at the game, but people who take their young kids to games have to be exposed to sexual ads on a massive TV screen and the idiots blast people who complain and think those people are evil. Just another example of the moral rot in America. It's Obama's country and we're all just living in it.

It was an ad for a hamburger that had a beautiful woman in it. She didn't do anything any more sexual than our and all other teams' cheerleaders do. I'd rather my kids see that than some of the truly disgusting stuff that's on television or seen in daily life.

Yeah I think it's funny when probably most of these people watch soaps all day long and much worse things than a freakin hamburger commercial. Just a bunch of Hipocrit holy polies at its best.

When your 4 year old looks at you and says she needs to put on more clothes then it is was bad. Others we know in the stadium that had kids in the 4-11 age range responded in many of the same ways that people did when Miley took the stage in the VMA's. Granted, it's not as bad as some of the things that we see on tv, but then again we are about to cancel cable and use Netflix only.

That commercial is nowhere near as bad as the Miley Cyrus display. Not only was it lewd, but she was an idol of youngsters and was extremely out of her character as far as her fans are concerned. McCarron's ex-girlfriend was basically just sitting there.

And if I had young kids, I wouldn't let them watch MTV anyway. It's terrible. You don't have to cancel cable ... just use the parental block features. Or better yet, take their TV sets away from them. But I'd rather my kids see normal sexual and other things on television than some of the garbage they're exposed to on TV and at schools as being normal and desirable.

I wouldn't be the guy calling up the AD to complain but I have young kids and wouldn't have wanted them to see it. And yes, my 3 year old watches games at home with me and the same commercial comes on. I change the channel though. That is probably the complaint of many of the fans with kids.

It really doesn't look big enough of a deal to issue a damn apology. I bet Hardees is happy as hell about it. Great advertising.

Except for the part where she is sitting there and then starts taking her shirt off and the rest of the commercial is meant to have sex appeal. Come on dude, that commercial was a terrible one to put on the jumbotron. Guys our age like seeing Katherine Webb in that sense, but that is not the type of commercial to show in a family environment.

But what about taking the same kids to a FB game ... a game of violence, hard hits (that may make them think that it's ok to do that to their friends), injuries that will sometimes turn your stomach, being surrounded by cursing fans, many of them drunk, adults acting like children both on and off the field, etc., etc. I'd still rather my kid see an attractive woman than any of the above. And yes, I took my kid to FB games.

I can understand some objection to it by parents who raise their kids by teaching them that it's wrong, and they're in an environment where there is no on/off switch. I understand that. But I still don't think it's earth-shakingly bad.

But watch NBC tonight in about an hour. I'll bet the very same commercial is shown numerous times during the game. Yes, you can turn it away for a moment, or off, or whatever, but it's still in the prime time family hours. And it's not nearly as bad as some of the things shown on network TV.

Personally, I haven't watched a network program, other than the news and sports, in years. I go with History, Science, and NatGeo.

And the people who complained would rather not see the attractive, half naked, finger licking, sweaty tits woman on a giant TV. They expected the hits on the field and drunk ********. The sweaty tits in massive HD was new and they didn't expect it. Like I said, I wouldn't have complained. I also wouldn't have liked the commercial nor expected to see it. No big deal.

REALLY release the age of the people complaining? Many people apparently had smaller children or other reasons.

Probably poor taste for MSU to show it considering how MSU's crowd is made up of a lot of dads wearing all white New Balances, moms in mom jeans, and kids wearing Tyson Lee jerseys, but it might be the coast trash in me that says "you can't shield your kids from everything"... all the guys I knew growing up that had parents that never allowed any kind of exposure of sex, alcohol, whatever turned out to be odd balls, either drug addicts or Pokemon card collector-type at the age of 23 of people.

It probably wouldn't be such a big deal if the jumbotron wasn't so big. I say that because most of the crowd, especially kids, watch the scoreboard more than the game. It draws EVERYONE's attention.

But seriously... if you brought your kid to that game you probably tailgated too... and there was a lot of stuff going on in that field that day worse than what they saw on the screen. I say that speaking from experience. Watching 20 year olds they look up to and want to be like drinking and smoking first person is a LOT more damaging. I don't think any kids left the game thinking they wanted to be a hooker who got paid in cheeseburgers.

It is really isn't possible to be offended by the commercial, but not by the half-naked cheerleaders and pomsquad who serve no purpose other than eyecandy, right?

There were local TV ads back in the day of "Walking Tall", where the sheriff in Tennessee was going around beating people up with a baseball bat, that said it was "rated R for violence, not sex, so bring the kids!".

These commercials are getting old. Moo tube is a buzz kill.

I understand economics, but I'd rather have half the size and half the annoying 17ing commercials every stoppage of play. I go to the game to enjoy football.

Couldn't agree with you more. Unfortunately, the ads are footing the bill for building that 6 million dollar tv in the endzone. I hate it because the commercials are awful. Bullock toyota should really be forced to change their ad or hire a marketing firm to do one for them it's that bad. I cringe whenever it's played. Mercedes isn't far behind.

Not a Blue hair... My old friend Rocket Dawg has gray hair.
I gave up on hair years ago...as Dawg Student can attest; he saw me in the Junction on Saturday.
That aside, the Jumbotron commercial was provacative, but not beyond the bounds of today's TV presentations.
Those of us with more conservative Protestant views may have preferred not to have it, but it's all over the air.
It abides.

Younger kids, roughtly 4-10, are usually either: A. Not paying attention to the game or whats going on on the screen due to the fact that they are too busy running up and down the stairs and playing with the rail like its a damn stripper pole or pretending to play football in the isle if there is r oom or B. Running back and to the concession stand spending daddy's money before that well runs try. Was showing that commercial in poor taste...maybe but there is a lot worse **** that is shown on there than Miss Webb in a leather skirt.

I am perfectly happy to watch the commercial.
I would not be happy to have my 6yo daughter watch the commercial.
There is no need for it at the football game.

But I also wouldnt complain since there are 50+K people in that stadium.
More skin is shown at the beach or pool.

I cant say that she has ever seen a commercial like that though- and I am happy knowing she hasnt. There is no reason to expose young kids to that.

Ditto to everything you said. The camp of people saying "she's just sitting there" have a different understanding of "sitting there" than I do.
