You can throw my young 'uns in on that.
It's certainly not the most lurid commercial of the past decade, but when you set up an atmosphere with toy car commercials, animated Bullies, bulldog puppies, the chicken dance, and a Sonic multi-mascot race, you can't just throw instant sexuality up on the massive video board. My wife hadn't seen it before Saturday so wasn't paying attention nor prepared, and both my kids got an eyeful before she could do anything about it.

Looks like she has more clothes on than the cheerleaders.

True, but the cheerleaders aren't writhing around on the fields with their megaphones.

I guess the bottom line is...

...if it is even the slightest bit questionable, it probably shouldn’t be shown on the video board. Personally I think people are taking the **** way too seriously, and just looking for something to be offended by. And that’s coming from someone with 3 daughters --- 5, 2, and 3 months. But if you can avoid upsetting people in what is supposed to be a family atmosphere, you should.

Yeah, I agree with most of your sentiment. I know there is no way to shield from most of the issues that kids will face. My wife and I teach in the public school system and my kids are in the schools as well. I know what they see and most of what they are exposed to. We don't tailgate in or around the junction so our kids don't see a lot of smoking or drinking especially in the area we tailgate. Honestly, if you drink it is put in a cup and if you've had a little too much you are kindly asked to leave. Smoking is not allowed and to honest I don't see much of it in the area near the soccer field where we tailgate.

Wow, "pom" and "porn" look nearly the same in this font.

Double-take.

I have a big problem with them showing that commercial on the big screen. My problem is that somehow, I managed to not see it. Seems to me that if a commercial is OK for over the air network TV, then it should be OK for the MSU to show it.

The university just issued an apology on its Facebook page and said it will not air it again. Come on, it was not bad at all!! I hate our fans!!!!

Dang, by far the most entertaining commercial we had going. Where is Brent Musburger when you need him.

I get what you are saying but...

you are assuming that all of network TV's commercials match well with the demographics of our fanbase in attendance. Would you have been OK with it being the Trojan commercial about the different types of lubes for her and him? They show that on TV all the time and during football weekends.

I've not been to a game in a few years and my only complaint about the whole thing (aside from the team getting whipped) is that that damn TV is way overused for my taste. I got tired of the continuouse barrage of commericials and those silly "find the whatever" shell game animations. I recognize they have to sell spots to make enogugh to pay for that big MooTube, but, for me, the repetition of the thing really interefered with the flow of the game.

I liked the loud music and that hot chick commercial. But give the TV a rest some. It got annoying.

Maybe I've missed seeing those, but I've never seen them except at 3 in the morning when I can't go back to sleep.

BTW ... the Hardee's commercial in question was indeed shown last night on the NBC game, but it wasn't in HD. Might've been shown locally ... couldn't tell. I don't have a problem with it.

Ha. Yeah, they do and it's even worse for me. I just got back from the opthamologist and he dilated my eyes so everything's really fuzzy already. Bear guy, BTW, in Huntsville, Don't know why a Bear is here ....

Couldn't agree with you more. Unfortunately, the ads are footing the bill for building that 6 million dollar tv in the endzone. I hate it because the commercials are awful. Bullock toyota should really be forced to change their ad or hire a marketing firm to do one for them it's that bad. I cringe whenever it's played. Mercedes isn't far behind.

I second that.

Not a Blue hair... My old friend Rocket Dawg has gray hair.
I gave up on hair years ago...as Dawg Student can attest; he saw me in the Junction on Saturday.
That aside, the Jumbotron commercial was provacative, but not beyond the bounds of today's TV presentations.
Those of us with more conservative Protestant views may have preferred not to have it, but it's all over the air.
It abides.

You're a no hair, my friend.

Wasn't at the game, but people who take their young kids to games have to be exposed to sexual ads on a massive TV screen and the idiots blast people who complain and think those people are evil. Just another example of the moral rot in America. It's Obama's country and we're all just living in it.

lol, you didn't even see it, but it was Obama's Fault. The damn things was not nearly as bad as the majority of pom squad dances at baseball and basketball games. Do you think cheerleaders need to wear their skirts below their knees?

Yeah I've seen it on the NBC feed as well. It is a new commercial and they have even released a short documentary of the filming of it.

I find those commercials and those for "feminine hygiene" more objectionable than the Katherine Webb commercial. I suppose it's because the former are rather disgusting, especially for prime time. The ones for "male enhancement" are a bit over the top too. Not to mention Joe Theisman's prostate ....
