He actively recruited and vouched for the Bucks signing Myles Turner. Sounds like he wants to make it work…or at least try.
I had not seen that Turner news when I posted. Playing alongside Giannis is a big plus for him and vice versa.

I'm very interested to see how bad Charlotte could be. If they tanked this year, they could end up with 2 of the top 5 picks. They own Phoenix's 1st, unprotected.

Also, the Hawks might be pretty good (the East is terrible, especially with Boston & Indiana basically taking next year off) and they have the best pick of MIL, WAS or NO.

Totally agree. The east is there for some of these other teams.

The Magic could make some noise too.

Whoever makes it out of the east is going to get eaten alive by whoever comes out of the west. It’s going to be like those jason Kidd nets teams

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies' offseason just went from bad to worse. JJJ with turf toe surgery that will likely keep him out for whatever the worst case scenario may be since we're talking about the Grizz medical staff.

Following a first round playoff sweep and Kleiman stating that Memphis wasn't close, he's somehow managed to make the roster even younger, and he's yet to address the team's glaring problem at center or starting SG. If Coward isn't a first year stud, this season could very well be a disaster

They aren’t planning on contending this year and Jerome is probably the shooting guard at least to start the season. The glaring weakness is at the 5. Edey is hurt, JJJ is out now, and Clarke is coming off a minor injury to finish last season.

Considering where this roster was 3 years ago, that statement alone should have been enough to relieve Kleiman of his duties. Three young stars on either rookie or very manageable contracts, a solid core of role players like Tyus, Adams, and Kyle, and a war chest of draft picks.

What does Kleiman do?

- Burn numerous draft picks on guys that don't even play for us anymore
- Let our roll players walk
- Make a disastrous trade for Marcus Smart, resulting in Memphis having to give up draft picks just to get rid of him
- Extend Bane, a guy that's never sniffed an all start team, to a max contract
- 3 years of telling us how hard he tried to get this, that guy, etc, but never actually got anything done

I'll give Kleiman one piece of credit. He has a way of finding value in some late to very late draft picks, but value isn't what this team needs right now. It needs a legit NBA caliber starting 5, and he's the reason Memphis doesn't have one this season

The Marcus Smart trade fiasco was boneheaded but everything I don’t really agree with anything else.

What good role players did he let walk?

Bane is one of the best three point shooters in the league and is great at getting to the basket. Just because he didn’t make the all star team popularity contest doesn’t mean shít.

He has drafted really well. Every team has misses and he’s not immune to that but you can’t not look at his drafts and see he’s done remarkably well especially with second round guys.
