BLUE:
BR over Marist
: Two teams that may have been overhyped heading into the year, but still very strong squads. BR wins the Pulaski tussle 27-23

MC over LA: Great match up. Going with MC in a close game. MC 24 LA 20

GREEN:
SR over Montini:
Going with SR only because they needs this game desperately to avoid a 4-4 situation against ND in the last week. SR 20 Montini 19

ND over PC: ND is putting together a very strong campaign and they have an X factor at QB. ND 28 PC 17

ORANGE:
Naz over StL:
Running clock. Naz 49 StL 14

Benet over DLS:
DLS got shutdown by a very untested Marmion squad. Benet 35 DLS 7

PURPLE:
Marian of the Sticks over StV:
This is an indicator game of who's going to get to 5 wins. Going with MCC 21 StV 20

Carmel over Pat's:
This is a pillow fight that Carmel will prevail in. Seems like the new coach at Pat's is not cut out for the job. Carmel 24 Pat's 13

RED:
Gordon over Leo:
DePaul seems to be a tad better than previous year. I have no clue really in this game. DP 26 Leo 19

Marian of the Heights over StJ: Marian goes to 3-1! MC 34 StJ 13

WHITE:
Marmion over SI:
Marmion goes to 4-0 in a very close win over the Wolfpack. Marmion 31 SI 28

Joliet Catholic over Fenwick: Last year I was against the Hilltoppers all season. Worked out well for me. I'm not making the same mistake twice (for now). JCA 34 Fenwick 28

3OW, sorry so late. I was just waiting til ignazio posted so that I can gain leverage on the full field I am up against.

Even though you haven’t named a prize yet, I’m sure it has something to do with a shillelagh and I must win it to add to my shillelagh collection.

Marist +5 too many points not to take in neighborhood battle.

LA -3 getting LA earlier in the season than later is good for MC but I’m banking on LA learning some things about themselves last week. Either way, It will be a great game.

SR -6 I have picked against my Mustangs in the past but remember, the goal is to win the 3OW inaugural ABCCL/ESCCXYZ pick’ em shillelagh sponsored by McNallys. No one has picked SR, so to maximize my leverage vs the field, I choose the red and blue so staunch and true. Still can’t wait to enjoy a Segredo Sub with my Bronco friends if they’re not too mad at me.

PC -6 Green battle of greens goes to the Celtics 17-10 at the Emerald Isle.

StL +36 Naz could end up winning by 35 but I think this is one of those games that you’ll do a double take at the halftime score

DLS +22 Surprised that MA came in and shut D down but Boehm’s boys will battle til the end

Marian North +7 Give me a coin. The Hurricane D hasn’t been scored on but what does their early schedule tell us. Can’t tell much from V’s two wins either. Give me the points

CoM -14 Corsairs continue their winning ways at home after their tough start.

DeP -7 haven’t seen a game breaker emerge for Leo yet and DePaul has enough to get the job done

Marian South -18 Spartans get to 3-1 over the Chargers

MA -17 Fire the cannon. The Cadets play well at home and win going away.

JCA +14 Here’s another game that no one has taken the other side of but this spread is way too out there even for my taste. Maybe we’re all missing something or maybe Ignazio has to change the batteries in the Gambletron 3000.

Have a great Week 4 friends!

The easiest prediction this week is that Doc Grieco will be at the St. Rita v Montini game tonight.

It will be Doc’s 600th consecutive St. Rita football game he has attended. He lives in Bloomington.

Hats off to a fan that has always backed his team through the good times and the heart breakers. Here’s to 600 more!

My auto-math-check-O-meter must be completely broke because I've read that in different threads a couple times and it never registered how Amazing that consecutive streak was Until:
Wow! Simply amazing!
Bowie said that and I stopped and started doing math.

Is that even possible? o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

Remember, due to Prep bowl playoffs, last year’s team didn’t make state and still was 7-6, 13 games and for the past 50 years St. Rita has been in the Prep bowl or State Playoffs (which started in 1974). That should make more sense for you. And of course the streak could’ve started in grammar school. I’ll ask him tonight. TLoner knows more of the details.

I’ve been going to St. Rita games since I was in 1st grade, albeit not consecutively, but his recollection of those 599 games is incredible too.

And he’s Class of ‘72 for those wondering

That's like 12 games per year average for 50 years. Even if he lived close to St Rita (which someone said "he does not" at least now), 600 weekend trips without ever having a failure to arrive would be amazing enough, let alone with most of those trips being Friday evening.

That is HARD CORE.

To whom it may concern:

Covers for the first two weeks of CCL/ESCC games. We have some new participants (whether they like it or not) that submitted picks for all 12 games this week so I added for good measure. Obviously, they’ll have some catching up to do to reach the ESCC All-Stars.

Newcomer of the week: DigitalCy
Comeback picker of the week: caravan8

*If you submitted your own final scores, I used the differential to determine if the Gambletron spread was covered. It makes more sense than the IHSA multiplier and success factor.*

Wow. This is great. I’m glad you thought of this 3OW, definitely makes checking the other games over weekend more interesting. Thanks again for putting this together and tracking it.
