With so much undue emphasis on winning and "rankings" I wanted to encourage the other teams in the conference to take this moment to refocus on the true meaning of sport: having fun. You can't tell me the kids at Rice are having more fun this year than last. Neither are the kids in Lombard. Probably just worrying themselves sick - trying to live up to their parents' ridiculous expectations and all. Might be a good time to reflect on this and enjoy life with their friends on Friday.

Projections seem spot on. I would think Rita keeps it a little closer though. Maybe 35-0, 35-3.

Everyone associated with Provi including the school custodians know that this is the playoff punching game and we don’t want tonhave to get a MUST win in last 3 brutal games. Provi will lay it on plus it’s homecoming
PC 38 Hope 3

Gordon Tech gets first win! 6-3 over SJ

Leo over CTK - score, who cares

St Ig will play respectfully but MC too much to handle for 4 quarters
MC 45 St Ig 14

DLS over Cadets 35-28. Should be a great game

St L over Friars - 42-7 running clock

My oh my, Rice by 42? Slap in Mustang face!
If BR shut out PC then SR will score negative points. Rice D is brutal!
BR 35 SR 0 - could be worse if Badke chooses not to take it easy on his buddy Kuska

Montini Catholic please come to the podium! First real test however LA still licking wounds. Coach H is slowly fixing the Ramblers. If LA keeps turning over the ball then they could lose this game. I think LA firms things up and wins a squeaker

Marmion and De could be a good game but the Friday traffic will do in Marmion as much as the meteor will

SI and MC could be intriguing but probably not

Rita and Rice is as I said last week....sometimes high school games happen. Rice gets 2 weeks out of the blue after a 3 week run after this one

Montini and Loyola could tell us something or it could tell us nothing at all. Loyola at home should give them the edge unless they really are not all that

PC should win rather easily. Their defense will carry them. Hope has too many players going both ways. Providence size and depth should carry them in the end. The results of the Hope-SI-LA games the last couple of weeks add intrigue but I don't think it is warranted.

Ouch. It’s all my fault. I mocked Gambletron’s early season prediction ability so it punches me back in the gut with a 42 spot on my beloved Mustangs. Your motherboard wears combat boots Gambletron.

Yeah, this is not accurate.
Loyola will win by 14 - LOCK OF THE WEEK
Rita will give Rice a good game (rival game and playing for their season) Rice by 10
PC will rebound and beat Hope by 21
MC will pound Iggy by 28
St Laurence will squeek by Fenwick by 6

Care to make a wager? I love the school. Look, I played at LA and am a huge LA supporter, but this team is no bueno. And that's ok. It is in excellent program that has experienced significant success over the past decade. A down year every decade, or so, is understandable.

i hope I’m wrong
LA wins this game. No need to wager.

Can't tell if there's a talent gap, a size and speed gap or, at worse, a motivation gap. Wouldn't hurt if someone stepped it up a notch and . . .
I mean, ahem, they're all very nice boys and do very well in school and they all try very, very hard and some of these bus rides are really long and they get home so late and with homecoming coming up there's barely enough time to get an outfit and . . .

PC over Hope:
I think Hope has more individual talent than PC, but PC has the talented depth. Celtics by 20

SJ over DP
An actual “good game” simply based on where the programs are at, but Joe’s has a bit more to work with. DP will score this week! Joe’s by 10

Leo over CTK
Runnning clock for Leo

MC over SI
Iggy’s taking Loyola to OT was the WORST thing for them in this matchup. Caravan win by 40

DLS over MA
Long trip in on a Friday for the Cadets. DLS wins comfortably

SL over Fenwick
Fenwick’s march to 1-8 continues.

BR over Rita’s
Rice having the opportunity to end Rita’s playoff dreams? They will take great pride in that

Loyola over Montini:
I think Loyola gets back on track with a solid 14 point win over a pretty good Montini squad that I have routinely spoken lowly about

I'll take ...
Hope +13
TECH +8
CTK +41
Wolves +25
Meteors -13
Vikes -16
'Stangs +42 and . . .
'Broncs +14 - hoping the guys from Lombard just don't let this thing get out of hand, with their over-competitiveness and aggressiveness and all. Just a game, fellas. Easy. Maybe spot the Ramblers a couple touchdowns early just to keep it interesting. No need to pile it on.

The picks for SR are picks taking the +42 points. I don’t think anyone picked SR to win straight up. Us degenerates in this prediction thread use the Gambletron produced spreads.

Last time I was at Loyola was when they played Montini in 2011. Meiers before the game, and during a lightning delay mid-way thru the game.
I should have stayed at Meiers and never returned when the game resumed.

That was the best defense in loyola’s History. My buddy R. Aurilio texted me after the game commenting that “Loyola is the real deal.” Unfortunately, that 2011 D isn’t playing tomorrow.

Montini started their backup QB for that game since Rhode was injured. Our 2nd best d lineman also did not play. Westerkamp had 3 tds and we would have lost even at full strength.

Being 3-4x smaller in enrollment between two private schools playing each other is a big difference.

That was a very good Montini team. Is that the year JCA and Montini scores an insane amount of points in the state championship?

@Bowie50 you’re on multiple threads laying it on thicker than a nice Vermont syrup over a triple stack.

LA not up to par this year? Sure, but are they suddenly Sister of the Poor or what?
