Gambletron had its worst week yet, going 2-2 in the IHSA playoffs (2-0 in the CCL). Interesting to note that it was only off by 2 points in the BR-Warren game (26-8 vs 20-0) and they had Naz winning by 10 but not the Simeon coaches losing their minds.

Montini -6

BR -1 : The 2nd time around thing is a myth. Have countless examples on the contrary. Was at week 1 and BR was not clicking yet on offense.

MC -12 seems like a lot of points on the road. Have been watching clips of Nubin that will be challenging. I think MC wins just 12 is too many.

Lincoln-Way East over Loyola Academy: While Loyola is playing some great ball, The Beast will punish the ramblers. At least a 3 score victory

Sterling over Montini: Montini proved me wrong a lot during the regular season. I should be wiser, but I just went with my initial reaction when seeing this match-up. Could be the best game that's not played on Pulaski this weekend

MC over SCN: If you check the DuKane threads, I have been a big Stars stan and talking them up as a late November caliber team (just gonna pat myself on the back) but they have met their match against the re-calibrated machine in MC. Caravan pull away in the 2nd half for a comfortable win

BR over Marist: The game of all games this year in the playoffs. I can't wait to hear about counterfeit tickets, families of players being left in the parking lot, and how many "guests" are on the sidelines for this one. Even though Rice won in week one, I can see them convincing themselves they are the underdogs headed into this game and that emotion will propel them to a close, late 4th quarter win.

SR over DLS: Rita will be the "Catholic Champs" after a hard fought battle against the Meteors!

Rice by 14......Maybe even 21. Marist is really good, but that BR defense is fantastic.

Hard to agree with the 2 to 3 score projection, but that Rice defense sure is stout. I see it coming down to if Marist’s o-line will hold up against the d-line of Rice (but I don’t see that happening).

I’m so pissed the BR/M game is the same time the MC game is. I really enjoyed the first game and was hoping for a rematch. I’ll have to follow on Twitter. Lot of turnovers the first game. Marist last one cost them the game. Marist will use Skalinsky a lot more then they did the first game which is very wise. But BR defense is legit...and this time of year, defense wins. So I’m picking BR mainly because, if beast wins, I want to see how their Defense stacks up against East offense! Won’t be a bit surprised if Marist wins though.

I’m still collecting data on SCN but it’s going to be a much better game then I initially thought vs my Caravan. They are a tough team. MC defense is right up there with BR....losing Davis (probably) hurts but it’s been a revolving door at RB and Rias and Conjar have been outstanding. I think MC moves on to play for lucky # 13.

Rita beats D in a rematch of what was a great game earlier this year if they are healthy

I think Loyola can beat LWE.....I don't think Rice or Marist can....I do think both Rice and Marist can beat Loyola......I know that may sound idiotic but I like Loyola at home THAT much

I think Rice has fine tuned themselves more so throughout the season than Marist. I thought Rice was better on offense and defense week one but the special teams needed work and still does. Both teams made a lot of mistakes in week one. If Rice pounds the ball on the ground and lets their defense win it, they will.

Caravan stroll right through SCN. I thought MC would be better this year than last and it is showing. That staff is a well oiled machine even with a new engineer. I'd pay to see that defense v the Beast next week. I think MC rolls SCN and then beats Naz the following week. The Naz/Marist game still hangs in my memory.

Rita should have no problem with De then Taft

For you Carmel guys, this SCN teams has talent . Nubin is really good and they have played a tough schedule.

Does SCN QB make some keys throws and does MC run the ball on a very good SCN defense that is comparable to LZ but defends the pass.

Broncs look strong in the snow. I'll give the 6.
[projection: Mount Carmel (Chicago, IL) 26-14]
The Caravan has arrived. Should win, but I'll take Oo, ah, Saint Charles.
[projection: Brother Rice (Chicago, IL) 20-19]
Why all these games have to be played at 1pm, I'll never understand. Crusades by 3.
[projection: Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, IL) 28-14]
Running clock? How do you make field turf grow long?
[projection: St. Rita (Chicago, IL) 31-21]
DLS will represent the CCL on Thanksgiving weekend. Also, the Sun Warriors make their first appearance in the Prep Bowl.

Final from Friday night. Rita 42, De La Salle 14.

Sophomore Jason Moore (about whom you'll be hearing a lot of great things the next two seasons) scored both TDs for the Meteors. Rita controlled the lines of scrimmage and ran the ball. There was your game.

Still, proud of our Meteors and the damn good season (8-5) they had. Happy for the kids from 35th and Michigan.

While everyone was picking a certain 8A team to get clocked. I did predict a team would get clocked. I wonder what that poster "Who shall not be named" would be say today?

Well he would have a meltdown on The board and then get booted by Sunday nite.

That’s what got him booted the first time - when Herscher lost to Phillips in 2016.
